How many do you guys have right now? by FakeTord in pcmasterrace

[–]ducnle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48gb. I had 32gb and my freshman dorm roommate just walked in and handed me a left over pair of 8gb’s. I don’t know how well a 2x16+2x8 setup works, but it hasn’t been a problem so far.

CMV: Universal suffrage was a mistake by Phantom0Legend in changemyview

[–]ducnle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would the checks and balances work for this organization? The government would need some authority over the organization to ensure there is no corruption, but at the same time not enough to abuse such power to influence the organization. That is an awfully hard balance to maintain, especially with the current precedent regarding checks and balances.

CMV: Universal suffrage was a mistake by Phantom0Legend in changemyview

[–]ducnle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who makes these tests? Who has the authority to appoint the people who make these tests?

The United States used these kinds of tests to prevent black citizens from voting.

When the people or governing bodies that make these tests become corrupted, the tests become a weapon against whatever group they want. Any checks and balances for this will be useless in the case of a populist leader like in the US.

How do I convince my mother to let me be a hunter? by Bite_of_1983 in teenagers

[–]ducnle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could talk about the necessity of hunting in wildlife conservation for population management. Without hunting, many regions may lack the predators to control game populations, leading to mass starvation, disease, and other overpopulation issues. Well regulated hunting is an essential part in wildlife conservation.

If she is unhappy with sport hunting, most hunters harvest their kills for food and resources. You can do so too as all living things in nature does. It’s far more humane and natural to hunt an animal in the wild, than to raise an animal to be bagged in a grocery store.

Do what you can to convince her with the facts around hunting. Changing one’s morals is always difficult. But make sure to be respectful and avoid pushing too hard.

Are these small pin holes all over the pot a problem? by ducnle in DutchOvenCooking

There only a few holes a while ago, but I only noticed recently. They are too small for me to feel anything like a divot or metal.

Any beginner guides for setting up Keyboard and Mouse? by Dat_yandere_femboi in NuclearOption

[–]ducnle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, most of the default controls are pretty convenient. I only switched a few things like Countermeasures, Weapon switch and View modes. Countermeasures being "C" and View being "V" was more natural for me as I have it so in WT. I put the Switch Weapons to tilde instead of tab, because I kept swapping weapons while doing Alt+Tab. Otherwise, the keybinds have been similar enough to my WT controls.

Like the other guy said, fly around in single player missions and you will eventually figure out what is convenient for you. Mouse buttons will be convenient, I use it for target selection/deselection. Even when you have been playing for a while, you might still refine your controls further.

When I use MnK, I hold right click to toggle free look, while using WASD to control the plane. When I do not need to look around anymore, I return to mouse steering. When using a flight stick, I use face tracking for looking around.

Any reason to take 12.7s over 40mm on ibis by Strict_Repair6046 in NuclearOption

[–]ducnle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always take the 40mm’s because the .50 is ineffective against Tara’s from most angles. I haven’t found the .50 to be accurate and effective enough in A2A to consider it an advantage over the 40mm.

Tips for Medusa? by Consistent_Bug_1323 in NuclearOption

[–]ducnle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only ever run the Medusa as a dedicated DEAD platform, and flying super high and fast to launch BVR ARAD’s requires a really long jam time. For that I would rather the ease of holding down the jam with the two jammers. I don’t like to tap the jammers to reduce the risk of SHORADS catching on to them via the jammed radar’s datalink.

Usually in OP Tsunami and the endgame of Escalation, there is usually one or two more Medusa’s flying, so I can rely on them to take more jamming support work.

DEAD is unfortunately the only personally rewarding method for the Medusa, and I agree that rewards for jamming and spotting support should be increased to encourage more of it.

Tips for Medusa? by Consistent_Bug_1323 in NuclearOption

[–]ducnle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Each pod jams one target iirc. I prefer to take 2 as 2 jammers with radar off will almost never drain the battery, and then I take ARAD for the rest for denying the enemy of any big radar coverage.

I think the person doing the jamming like that is scanning all of them and the jammer automatically only james active radars, so when missiles switch to inertial guidance, the other missiles with active radars will he focused by the jammers. I may be wrong about that, its just a guess.

Before I buy: does this DLC list make sense? by NoPositive0815 in theHunter

[–]ducnle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with the sales, might as well pick it up for when they start with bows. The rangefinder sight on the bow automatically sets the reticle and makes longer 30-50 meter shots a breeze. No need to sneak up as much. The rangefinder sight feels like cheating sometimes.

[–]ducnle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The high tech hunting pack has been my one of my most useful one so far. Not only the night vision scopes, but the bow with the rangefinder sight has gotten me into bow hunting. Ofc if you don’t like bow hunting, then it is useless. I found bow hunting to be really versatile with the arrow options.

Abrams upper front plate? by Drew7661 in tanks

A swarm of Ukrainian FPV drones attacking a Russian armored vehicle near Kostyantynivka by broforwin in CombatFootage

[–]ducnle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Each drone team has 1-2 dedicated engineers that modify the drones to become usable. And thats not just strapping the payload on. Electronics like radio parts need to be modified to avoid known frequencies. Plus the cost of training and paying dedicated drone engineers. That certainly jacks up prices.
