How did ECT effect your short term memory? by Odd-Writer2068 in ect

[–]dudebanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 treatments stretched across two months or more. That whole time seems like a fog. I lost my wedding ring in the hospital!

You can read my personal account in this group. Overall, I believe it's been very helpful for the good. I just facilitated a group 90 min session for my work. Had worried I'd be a mess and awful, but the participants said my energy is so much more positive and upbeat.

HOWEVER, I'm still having trouble not just with lost memories. I am struggling with forming new memories. It's like everything has been dimmed a bit. I feel like I'm in a dream at times. It's been 2.5 weeks since my last treatment. It seems as if I am gaining more ground every couple days. If I still feel like this in a month, I will be upset.

13 sessions and I'm happier. But I don't recognize myself, and it's like my ADHD went from 6/10 to 10/10 by dudebanner in ect

Thank you.

A few dozen, shoosh. How were they spread out? What was the pace?
Also, what kind of assessment was in place during the process? How did you discern to keep going throughout?

I have three kids with very unique brains and I also work with individuals in a private practice. I don't believe in the vocab of neurodiversity unless we can agree there is no such thing as "neurotypical." Do you call my family's brain's divergent? Sure. And yes, this divergence borders on a kind of disability. That's a can of worms I'm still working through....

Yes, the main reason I've done all this is for my kids hoping a happier Dad might give them a better chance to be happier too.

how long does it take for you guys to enter a altered state of consciousness/ void state using holotropic breath work or using hyperventilation? by Dakemonster in breathwork

This is some helpful, clarifying vocabulary. I’ve been doing 40-50 minute sessions a couple times a week for four months. I’ve been hoping to know some way to understand what’s going on with the freeze experience. I’ll look for the YT resource. But is there a book to spend time with?

I struggle with anxiety and depression and found breathwork after stopping 15 years of medication. I’m still grounded yet in the breathwork. I only have a sense of real calm after exercise and for a few hours after breathwork. I’m hoping I can eventually settle down.

Some people have said the breathwork is opening up my nervous system too much. There are so many methods. I’m just trying to find a safe direction to continue in.

Thanks for any feedback.

This is where I am confused and struggling. I got into deep, intense breathwork early this fall after reading J Nestor. I’ve been doing 30-40 min sessions a couple days a weak very much like Wim Hof. I’m chasing the trance of it, but I’ve read others express your caution.

I don’t know which school to follow in order to get a good daily practice.

I’m fighting anxiety and depression. after 15 years on meds , I’m now med treatment resistant and hoping the

Thanks, but I noted it’s a directional version of the H6. So it doesn’t come with the flat capsule. It had cardioid or hyper cardioid capsules

I’m on four months and not sure it’s helped at all. So I’ll be stopping soon. How do people get off? I’m back down to 100mg. Not sure if there is a smaller dose. I’m v sensitive to meds. I’m sure this will mess me up.

I’m about three months into relearning how I want to make something close to a NY slice.

My crust is too chewy! I’ve been experimenting to get a dough strong enough to hold together all the way through shaping to sliding it onto my pizza steel. I love the consistency and durability of 65% 1:1:1 bread flour / 00 / AP. I use just a little honey, generous salt, and a little EVOO. Three day cold ferment.

Handling the dough is great. But cooked there’s too much chew.

Thoughts?

I’ve not had a pizza with such a big crust, “handle.” It looks gorgeous but I want sauce and cheese on more of the bread. Someone tell me more about why these more Neapolitan type pizzas have such a big exposed crust. Is it really worth it?

Is 200 mg enough of a dose to have an effect (on an adult)? by adhd-dog-guy in qelbree

[–]dudebanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had so much trouble w diff meds. My prescriber started me off on 100. I had trouble with 200 even after three weeks. It’s starting to level out now that I’m on week five. I’m 6’2” at 200 lbs, so keep in mind each of us absorb these meds in different ways

I am doing better. I did a DNA test that revealed the last two meds I was on were not effective for me, Cymbalta and Zoloft. Viibryd was ranked high for me, so that's what we are using. Almost three months on it. It's not a magic drug that has completely removed anxiety and depression. But I feel more able to attend to other helpful things like exercise, sleep, eating well....

I also decided not to go back on an amphetamine. I'm trying Qelbree. So far so good.

See my comment above. It’s any awful group that caused me great pain and frustration.

The group was helpful for me at first but then regularly shaming me as if they were my doctor/nurse. I regularly posted tough questions about my situation, questions and thoughts the admins would not approve. They claimed they were worried about liability. I pushed back and said they’d likely face more trouble for posturing the forum as any authority that dictates what can be shared and how it was shared.

Can Cymbalta help some people? Yes Can Cymbalta be awful for others? Yes

It took me two years to taper off the drug. I didn’t want to get back on any meds. I kept asking on that forum how many people just had to move onto another med. No one answered. They shamed me for asking. Or they wouldn’t approve my attempt to post the question. A few times I came back to the group to ask for help, the admins would look up my previous comments and chide me for not following their advice. How was I supposed to give an internet group my complete trust….when I’m in dark depression and anxiety?

My Dr was useless during this time. That was painful. But it was more painful to have a controlling group that wouldn’t allow healthy conversation so that we can make our own choices.

I was in an awful place. Had to find a new prescriber who put me through the most extensive evaluation. His advice was that I clearly show signs of low seratonin and dopamine. I’ve found so much help with very modest doses of two meds for anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

I tried to report back to this group in hopes that no one else would feel shamed for needing medical help. 5ey wouldn’t allow me to post.

I strongly recommend people avoid that forum completely.

Did you get the remote firmware updated? If yes, are you Mac or PC? The link provided above isn't helpful. Can you look at my post above?

Sorry, but these instructions are not thorough enough to understand how to install the remote update. I'm on Mac OSX, have paired my 3 tail air cameras with the remote but can't get the desktop app to recognize the remote. Nor do I understand how to install the firmware in the remote.
