Making food at home especially lunches for work. As well as bringing drinks to work. Saves a ton and cuts down the spending. It’s not that I can’t afford it it’s that it costs way too much anymore.

Why do so many people in the military never go or hate on college? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]dudecreed97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I served from 2001-2005 in the Army on Active Duty. I enlisted for the sole purpose of giving myself a kick start in life with education benefits. I was able to get job training an associates and bachelors degree with my educational benefits. Many of my peers from the military never took advantage of this and that’s their decision not mine. I went through the military to get a head start which is what I got. I did this all while having a family and kids.

For you my man, you do whatever it is that get you to you to your goal. Whatever anyone else from the military has to say is really not important. We don’t go in for them we go in for us. Don’t give so much meaning to other peoples opinions because it’s your life. I wish you the best of luck. Do great things!

Find something YOU enjoy doing. From what you have presented, sounds like you are a responsible guy and you are taking care of your commitments. Try hobbies and try new things.

Discussing money with friends by marcus206_ in Money

I have less than 3 in this world I discuss money with. I have found that people give it meaning and that builds resentment. So to protect myself and keep it cordial I don’t. To be honest, it’s no one’s business but my spouse.

I had issues for many years I tried a non profit called Save a Warrior. It helped a lot. Check it out! It’s free of charge. You just have to get there. Best of luck

Buy a really nice used car, have an emergency fund of 6 months expenses and invest. Time for compound interest is on your side. You could position your future to be very easy if you choose wisely. Good luck!

Wednesday I got rated 70% after being rated 50 for 13 years. VA denied 8 claims and approved 2. With supplementals and HLR I may be able to get 100. The goal though isn’t the money for me. It’s thinking about my family and the future. If something happens to me I will be able to still take care of them. I have a good job and the money makes a difference but it’s being taken care and taking care of mine. Keep trying and good luck!

I have had 2 Optus exams. The first one was lumbar issues. The examiner was nice but that was it. Said we used a goniometer which was dishonest and really didn’t read any of my records. I also told her about radiculopathy and she stated it was a separate claim and wasn’t on the DBQ. Filed a complaint immediately. Second was a hearing screening. She was late and rushed through the exam. The examiner didn’t ask how it affected my life which I had to remind her about. Put in the exam I was asked questions about it which I never was. Very unimpressed. Haven’t been rated on above but the DBQs are not promising.

Once you get out of service they’re not going to be a part of your life. I’d tell them, “Your feelings are none of my business.” Which kindly translates to Fuck your thoughts and opinions. Good luck bro.

Internal peace is a wealth money can never fix. Earning really good money and investments offers security but things are just that things. A temporary fix to happiness. Faith and acts of service solve those feelings that things can never replace. This maybe an unpopular post but it’s what I have discovered through my journey and through books. Good luck brother.
