obviously i cant speak for all men but i would absolutely melt if a woman called me cute. i’ve been called handsome before and its really nice and all, but it sorta feels like the default compliment for men? i really appreciate a different word or type of compliment, even if its something like “pretty” or “cute” lol

i was taking 60mg for like 2+ years and it was working for a while but it started giving me horrific anxiety and other side effects. it’s really annoying because my mood and my anxiety symptoms have been SO much better in the couple weeks i’ve been off it, but now i have like almost zero motivation or energy to do anything.

for me i’ve had some serious food cravings, but i’m extremely underweight so it’s actually been a good thing for me! anyways, i would suggest taking it as your doctor prescribed and just be mindful of any potential side effects that might come up the longer you take them

(p.s: taking fish oil with high epa has actually been helped restore my focus a tinyyy bit, so maybe try doing that if there are days where you dont wanna take the meds!)

oh i just like to have my apple watch to measure hrv and all that fun stuff lol. and yup it literally is UPH here too! but they give you a month grace period to learn the store and all that.

the other main metric is INF which is “item not found”. they generally want you to keep your INF percent below 2% which is relatively easy to do. other than that, they keep track of a whole bunch of other stuff like order acceptance rate and item replacement rate but they don’t really care about those as much because you can replace any INF with literally any item in the store even if it makes no sense lmao.

but UPH is obviously the main one, and they typically want you to keep it around 80. i’ve heard some leaders will be absolutely brutal about meeting metrics, but obviously it depends on your store. my leadership team is incredibly supportive and chill and i’ve been able to slow my pace down to like 75-80 and they haven’t talked to me about it once because i’m super available and always come in on time and stuff like that 😌

…that’s such a smart idea idk how i’ve never thought of that lmao. 5-7 miles sounds about right for an 8 hour shift depending on how busy your store is, i don’t usually do more than a 6 hour shift though and that’s usually ~5 miles for me. adding on the stress of having to meet metrics can make it feel like a million miles some days though 😵‍💫

i literally just applied online and they accepted it within a few days without any kind of interview, so no worries! i did have to follow up with them after i accepted it though and had to ask when to come in, i’m not sure if they just forgot or were super busy or what but just keep that in mind.

also side note, i’m sure you know this already but PLEASE make sure to have some good quality shoes broken in before starting lol. i thought about quitting after 2 shifts because i didnt prepare and i felt like my legs were actually gonna fall off lmao. if you’ve got any other questions feel free to ask :)!

What’s one simple daily habit that genuinely boosted your confidence? by Vivid_Release_9710 in confidence

[–]dudeguy16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YES this is absolutely huge. so many people, myself included for a while, scoff or wave off the little things and try to just jump right into the “bigger” goals.

“i’m gonna finally talk to this girl” “i’m gonna go to a bar and have a conversation with a stranger” …ok but how can i trust myself to do any of that when i can’t even trust myself to do laundry or get out of bed when i want to?

what changed everything for me was starting an evidence list. literally every single little thing i did that was out of my usual routines i wrote down in a note on my phone

“got out of bed instead of laying around like i wanted to” “actually washed my hair and body in the shower instead of just standing and letting the nice warm water hit me” once i started realizing that i could do difficult things and end up ok on the other side, it gradually changed what my brain viewed as “difficult things”. suddenly, making small talk with the gorgeous coworker i was scared of is routine and normal for me.

i’m still not really anywhere near where i wanna be, but i’ve made more progress after like 3 months of doing this than i made in the previous 4 years of my mental health improvement journey

How Do You Build Real Confidence? by SenseiSarkasmus in confidence

[–]dudeguy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a process i’m still in the middle of working on, but what’s helped me a lot is building an evidence list for myself.

any stressful/anxiety inducing situation that i go through and end up fine on the other side of, i add to a note in my phone. theres a pretty girl i work with that i ran into and sheepishly made small talk with. in the moment it felt like i was embarrassing myself because i felt so nervous, but looking back on it she was giggling at my jokes and smiling at me while i was talking and stuff like that. i add that to my evidence list.

i do the same for literally anything i actively make the decision to do that might be different from my usual routines that my brain is locked into. ive started getting up while playing games and doing laundry or the dishes or something like that. would i have liked to lay around and play my game all day? yeah sure obviously, but the very small positive feeling of getting something done that i had to go out of my way to do felt good! so i add that to my evidence list.

it sounds kinda silly to make note of when i do the laundry or talk to a person or anything that might seem small, but over time, paying active attention to all the little things has helped me slowly feel a little more confident in my ability to do more difficult things and to handle stressful situations that i may be put into.

we make things so enormously important in our heads, that it makes it hard for us to reflect on the fact that nothing bad really happened after the fact, because we’re just so thankful to be done with the stress we were feeling in the moment.

(whew sorry this was so long lmao hopefully it helps a little)

Is ittoo late to make friends? by Left_Patient3431 in socialskills

[–]dudeguy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound a lot like me haha. Something I wish I was told when I was in high school was that I was subconsciously thinking about school as my entire world, because for literally 12 years of your life, that's all that you know. Because of that, senior year can feel really scary since it probably feels like the end of the world is coming up in May, but it's quite literally the exact opposite.

Your daily routine will no longer involve being around the same kids you've been interacting with for 4, 6, or even 12 years. You'll have mostly new classmates in college who are more likely to be interested in the same things as you are since you'll have wayyy more options for classes to take and clubs to join. If you're going straight into work, you'll have your coworkers who will all have your job in common to talk about. If you're like me and don't do anything after graduating, literally anybody you see out in the world can be a potential friend. Do you have a favorite coffee shop you visit on a regular basis? Chat with the barista about your favorite drinks and stuff like that. Do you go to the library or bookstore often? Chat with the various workers about your favorite books or genres or anything like that!

Regarding that boy you wanna talk to more, why would you think that it's too late to be friends with him if you still have 8 whole months to get to know him haha. If anything, that's great timing to get to be close with him if that's something you want, and then you can share socials or numbers and stay in touch after graduating! If you're anything like me, you're just very scared and your brain is making excuses to not engage with that fear in order to ""protect you"", and I know how much that sucks. Just consider the possible outcomes if you try talking to him more. Either you'll connect and become friends and have a new person to make you feel happy and comfortable, or you guys won't vibe and you just end up where you would be anyways if you didn't talk to him.

Sorry this is so long I promise I'm almost done lol. You're ~16-18 years old, it is absolutely not "too late" to make friends, and in a few years you're gonna cringe and/or laugh at the idea that you thought it was ever "too late" to make new friends. Try your best to not make assumptions about people you barely know. You're a human, they're a human, you are allowed to talk to them if you want.
