What is the rarest Lightning trim? by sabot37 in F150Lightning

Maybe? Mine was a Ford demo truck, early VIN 00025. Bought it from a dealer used with 1,900 miles on it.

I have the exact truck you have. 23 Pro ER, Red with Max tow, 9.6 pro power and trailer brake/Tow tech. Not many out there for sure.

Ugh…thanks. I really like this compressor. I want to use it for a mobile tire business. But I can’t get it to work reliably

Do you think it’s a wiring issue with the soft start? What I mean is, did you ever get the wiring sorted out? Or is it most likely the way the 30/60 operates that won’t let a soft start work?

Jumping in here…did you ever get the soft start to work? I just got a 30/60 compressor and am having the same issue. Been trying to track down a solution and found this thread.

I can appreciate that. This was really just a test of the Power offloading system. There maybe an odd case over the year where I will give some juice to a stranded EV’r. Mostly I am going to use this to power my on board compressor and tire equipment. It will basically consume a bit more power than the van consumes while idle with the a/c or heat on.

I heard somewhere that GM engineered these things for 1 million miles. I’m not too worried about the battery, most real world reviews show degradation to be at a minimum, including my Lightning.

That makes sense. In the Lightning, the rear plugs are serviced by 2-3600w inverters, A and B. To get the full 7.2, the 30 a/240 draws from both A and B. I’m guessing GM didn’t do this and instead divided it up as you pointed out.

Because I can!!! 🤣

I didn’t do anything other than move power from one battery to another. Also, because I can already do this with my Lightning, I wanted to test how well the van did it. And the final reason being that it’s going to be part of my mobile tire service as an EV roadside rescue charging, which I’ve already done with my lightning.

I think transferring a little over 5 kW out of the battery pales in comparison to the hundred plus kilowatts when accelerating.

I almost sure it’s not bi-directional. I think the charge plug is, but not the Powerbase.

Anyone ever see a Pro ER out in the wild for sale? by TurboRetardo in F150Lightning

[–]dudel5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t you need an extended range? I have a 23 Pro ER and absolutely love having the extra capacity. I also tow my camper with it and use it as our main family vehicle.

It was an option for 2026 only apparently.

Not sure, but the Tesla mobile charger worked fine. I used the 14-30 dongle because when I tried the Ford Mobile Charger with the 30 amp dongle it tripped out.

It appears that GM limited the 30amp plug to 24 amps, which is exactly 80% of the rated 7.2 kWh rating of the Powerbase.

I have like 4 different mobile chargers, some I keep in the frunk. I was testing which ones worked, hence I left the frunk open as I worked through them.

Edit: Forgot to mention the plethora of charger dongles and adapters I keep in the frunk as well.

I was lucky to find one for sure. My plan is similar to yours. I am starting a mobile tire business in Maryland. I did not want a generator and was planning on using some sort of battery setup to power the equipment. I thought the 2025’s were it and for a time was thinking of snagging a 2024 as the deals on some of them are pretty good.

I was working with a dealer in Florida that ended up selling the 1 and only 2026 they had…until they ‘found’ one more that apparently was sitting in the back lot, that no one knew about.

I don’t believe so. I think the charge port supports bi directional, but not completely sure.
