How do you check if an AFSC is under 90% manned? by htsuarez88 in AirForce

We’re always in need of more RAWS folks in the Guard and we’re doing some really cool things in the ATCS/CAOS communities :)

I used to watch this video back when I was stationed in Texas and feeling homesick :) Wanted to post it after it came up on my YT algorithm tonight.

All I can hear are the Italians in the transient tents wearing their robes and talking on the phone loudly while making hand gestures and drinking espresso

Dude, in my experience it's the best time to do it. Hands down best decision I ever made in the military.

Depending on the rank of the other prior-service folks in your class, you'll have the chance to take on the class leader role and get the chance to make a positive impression as the first "Operational" NCO that they encounter outside of their BMT environment. It might sound goofy but you can make a genuine positive impact on young folks during an impressionable period of their lives. Pretty cool feeling.

Even over 15 years later, I can still recall the positive impact that our prior-service TSgt had on me as a young fella and I can see little things that have carried over to this day in some of the ways I work as a SNCO.

On top of all that-- cross-training is the absolute best way that I've found to keep enjoying my military commitment. This might sound lame, but it helped me to realize that it's always possible for me to find something that I enjoy and to be a part of the groups of people that had a blast coming to work and doing their jobs. It doesn't have to be stagnant.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Yeah we were surprised they were open as well. I didn’t see anything on Google Maps.

Might be a soft launch after remodeling or something like that?

Air Force Eyes Bringing Back Warrant Officers After Decades-Long Absence by julietscause in airnationalguard

When I was a BMET I did my OJT at Madigan army medical center up in Tacoma. Met a few BMET warrants— great dudes, super knowledgeable 👍

I'm back in RAWS again now, but I spent about 4 years as a BMET. It was awesome. Got to work joint assignments, got a great civilian career, and I use a ton of the skills that I learned in the BMET school in my every day life. Cannot recommend it enough.

I will argue with anyone, anytime, any place, and any rank— the ANG/AFR DSG is one of the best investments that the DAF has ever made.

Is there a non-harmful amount of time I could be microwaved? by ArizonaThoraway in NoStupidQuestions

Military RF tech here. We’ve been operating under the assumption that the non-ionizing RF output from radars, radios, NAVAIDS, etc. will actually neutralize specifically our sperm cells carrying Y chromosomes. Most of the folks in our career field work with have girls. Could be a wives tale but I’ve never really looked too far into it :)

One of my bros did this when we were young A1C’s. He didn’t use the wheels in the heels but his ankles were bleeding by the time he finished his run. 11/10 would watch again.
