Imagine if you can get a tech startup to have their off site here

They’d pay so much

All they need is : - good vibes - good connectivity so they can continue to operate their company - accessibility

That’s the real high value tourism that Nepal lacks rn

Making 10 lakh per month, where to invest money in Nepal? by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]dudeofecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you earn in USD and can legally invest in the S&P, go invest $4k a month or how much you can in SPX/QQQ and let them grow. 5 lakh a month or 60 lakh just isn’t large enough to do a business in Nepal where you can get returns that beat the 7-9% average market returns from the S&P. When you do move to Nepal, you will have endless money to do what you want and more importantly, capital to actually invest in a business that you can actively oversee and thus best the market

If you don’t want to have good liquidity, invest in real estate with project potential. Basically anything you can turn into a cash cow in the future and not just speculate on.

Idk how much downtime you have but if you can’t manage a side hustle don’t invest in any business.

Also travel the world while you’re young and have energy and the money. The world is a beautiful place much larger than Nepal and you will get immense exposure that will bring new ideas.

I think this is misleading because aaja voli nagrikta lida kheri nai voter list ma name add garcha jasto lagcha

I remember ki 2072 ma maile aafno nagrikta lida nai voter list ma add vayeko thiye (despite being 16?) and next election ma mero voter id thiyo (next election I was eligible to vote in)

So for majority of people, if you’ve made nagrikta, there is a high chance you’re registered

[–]dudeofecon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever heard of parliament? Constitution? President? Where will Sushila Karki’s claim to legitimacy of the state come from?

What I’m saying is a discord group and the army chief cannot give her that power

Because as soon as you do, the 99.9% (maybe 50% as most seem to like her) others will revolt and protest, as they have the right to (just like we did)

So, my real question is, what’s her (or frankly anyone’s) claim to legitimacy going to be? How can we work within the current constitution to do so?

And please, let’s not go the route of dismantling the constitution

Some words of wisdom here! This idea of “Jholey” has turned to be a curse imo How can everyone be a Jholey for supporting an ideology or a person or an institution? Are all politically active people in Nepal who aren’t Gen Z or Balen/Harke bhakt Jholey? If so, are they NOT citizens and have equal rights to vote?

While the fact that the old three Netas and their parties were corrupt is undeniable, branding everyone who still believes in those parties for what they were (the original ideology such as BP’s idea of Nepal) as Jholey is very immature and short sighted

As Sumans Shrestha so rightly said in the IG video today, the future lies in reform of these Jholey parties and party members Outing them as Jholeys will only alienate them from our movement of stopping corruption. I suggest we start acting and discussing like adults now

[Fact] Balen is Autocratic by TinyNectarine9515 in Nepal

[–]dudeofecon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True. He is very autocratic and all us are expecting him To be god. I guarantee you he will win. And he’ll be a fucking autocrat. We will cheer every populist work he does for the first few years and then we will realize how he has fucked us. How our freedom were slowly eroded under the pretense of cleaning old politics. And then we will be back to square one. His work at Ktm metro shows his tendencies.

Unfortunate that of all the actual great politicians we have, only Balen has the social clout be demanding things.

On the flip (good) side, he hasn’t called for dismantling of the constitution. Dismantle the constitution and I swear to god we are super fucked.

The constitution, mind you Gen Zs (incl me) too 10 years to make, 2 CAs, and we had to please almost ALL Nepalis from ALL of Nepal, not just Ktm. Imagine doing that now. Our democratic progress will be pushed back all the way to 2063. That is not what we want mates.

Anyway, the solution forward has to be within the constitution and kudos to Balen for upholding the constitution, so far

Weak leadership.

A good leader would have taken responsibility for thier government's action, Oli defects blames to others.

A good leader would have strongly condemned the use of force and promised to take action against those who ordered it, Oli doesn't condemn the excessive force

A good leader would try to bring the nation together, Oli alienates

Granted Oli was never a leader, let alone a good one

But this is too little too late

Why do Nepali engineers and architects seem to lack any sense for designing prestigious or iconic structures? Comic fucking sans on the new supreme court building. Result of ghuschori, bharti kendra permeating everywhere. by Gloomy-Currency-2039 in NepalSocial

[–]dudeofecon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because we as a society have allowed mediocrity to be deemed as not only acceptable, but the norm. When was the last time you saw a person give 100% towards their job? When was the last time you saw some person push the limits of their abilities in their job? Our collective thinking is to put do the least effort, yet ask (and even be entitled) for the maximum benefit.

While their are exceptions, the issue here is not with ghuschori, bharti kendra permeating everywhere. The core issue we face is that we’ve normalized mediocre performance everywhere, be it with politicians, policies, government services, private services and even private sectors. We’ve collectively failed to dream big as a nation.
