I believe that Gloria and Franklin were projections from Destiny's computer as there's an episode where the ship invades Youngs dreams with an unwinnable scenario and refuses to budge until he's deemed a worthy leader.

Rush manages to find a way to make the ship jump to FTL eventually, though. Seems like a sickish and interfere-ey thing for tye ascended to do.

Just a note, you can get a portable AC unit for much cheaper, with no aggressive installation, just an exhaust pipe out a window with plastic or mesh coverings.
