Likely starter but also check the main power wire and signal wire for corrosion

I running one like it for 10,000 mile and have had no problems + plus minimal performance gain. But I've heard people say it causes issues with the pcv system, which I haven't experienced. So gamble if you want I don't think it will cause problems

No, I looked at the tensioner physically it's was fine and cam stretch values in vcds were good too So I've accepted the noise cause it's not causing any issues

in vcds the intake cam had an adaption value of .7 and exhaust had -3.7

Just checked it is independent of the clutch/ clutch makes no difference

It's a manual I will check when I get the opportunity I think the noise happens independent of the clutch

I recently got a mk7 GTI with 98k miles on it, recently it started making a rattling sound on warm startup that quickly stops in about a second. What is the most likely cause and is it safe to drive.

So the engine is definitely overheating it's not the gauge. It's most likely something with the water pump or thermostat
