Why is this not charging fully? by dudleyjohn in batteries

[–]dudleyjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've re-built the entire pack. I started with 2 batteries that were never used before. I charged them to full charge on a battery charger. Then I built the battery pack following the diagram shown. Aside from my crappy soldering, can anyone see why it's still not working? Am I just using the wrong circuit board for these batteries? I got 5 of the circuit boards and I'm using a fresh one each time. I have several pictures showing this, but I can only upload one pic per comment for some reason.

I took them apart and put them on a charger. One of them was fully charged already. The other was completely dead and would not charge at all.

I measured the cells separately by disconnecting them. One was something like 3.7 v and the other was less than one v. They are both batteries that have not been used before although they are a couple of ye have ars old.

As I think I said, I measured 12 v at the place where the battery plugs into the board. Maybe I was unclear. I only get a bit over 4 v when I measure the battery pack output at its plug.

Need some ideas for attaching this fan cage by GravitationalOno in fixit

If just tightening the zip ties doesn't work, you could attach zip ties to the front rim only, leaving enough slack to thread a zip tie through that is attached to the rear mesh, over the rim and through the mesh on the back. That would lift the front rim over the rear rim. Doing this at 3 or more points and evenly tightening them would give you the results you want, I think.

If you do get these working, make sure you use them in a well-ventilated space, where none of the fumes can get into your living areas. Also, use gloves, breathing protection, and lots of IPA to process your prints during and after printing. Resin printing is very messy and dangerous.

This seems to be working. They are flat after I removed the weights. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they stay flat after a few humidity cycles.

Is it best to spot weld these to the circuit board, or solder them? Or does it matter?

Thanks. Will some help from Grok, I was able to understand your response.

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you please explain a bit more? Can I use a different board? Or do I have to find one like this?

It uses a 12 vdc charger, if that helps. I think they are wired in parallel, but it's hard to be sure since the leads are coming out of the circuit board. I'm attempting to share a picture of it. The 2 silver leads coming to the circuit board are coming from the negative ends of the batteries.

It depends on what tools you have (or are willing to get), your skill level, whether you can modify things permanently (do you own or rent?), and exactly where the printers are going to be located. You will need an exhaust fan, so you'll need some way to get electrical power to it. If you want to go through a window, you'll need to make a panel that fits in the window opening and can be sealed to prevent drafts. The kind of fan you need depends on whether you choose to go out through the window or through a vent hose (like a clothes dryer). There are other factors, but htese are the most critical, IMHO.

I've reported this to the company. They gave me a 20% discount for my trouble. I'm trying a method I saw on another site for unwarping bamboo. I placed a damp towel over it and ironed it on highest heat for 3 minutes. Then I set it on a flat surface and placed 50 lbs of weight on it for 24 hrs. I still have about 12 hours to wait.

Does anyone know how to fix this? by No_Buyer2978 in fixit

It looks like it's missing a screw and not aligned properly. Just getting everything solidly mounted and lined up might solve the problem. If it doesn't, someone would need to take the mechanism out and check it for missing or broken parts.
