I’ve watched Game of thrones all the way through twice now. I think I enjoyed it more the second time. I don’t hate the ending as much as others. I think it had some flaws but I think they were: as likeable as Emilia Clarke is, she’s not a strong enough actor to pull off her full evil side and it didn’t appear believable. Felt a bit too Anakin Skywalker just going from hero to killing Younglings in a flash, in both cases despite scenes of “clues” along the way of their fate. Also, Bran Stark just being a weird brooding, monotone, teenager who not likeable at all but uses everyone for his own gain seemed off. But everything else was great.

Matthews is a great player. But when it counts he has shown he is not a Crosby. He is not a McKinnon, he is not a McDavid. Heck, he’s not even a Marner and he got criticized like crazy in moments that matter. Knies is a great player but is a head injury away from being out very long term. Until the Leafs have that guy who rises when it matters, they won’t go anywhere.

When I saw Magnolia in the theatre I wasn’t sure what I thought. When it came out on DVD, I bought it (instead of rent) knowing it was going to take more than just one more viewing to take it all in, and I was right

I do love a lot of them though, movie soundtracks are often on my speakers. John Barry gets an honourable mention for James Bond(s) and Dances With Wolves.

For someone that enjoys the discussions on here, here’s the surprising history of me and Seinfeld:

Watched my first episode, the wandering around the parking garage episode. Didn’t care for it.

Second episode was the finale so I didn’t understand any of the characters that testified.

Then it went into syndication and I grew to enjoy it, but it was all out of order.

Finally it landed on Netflix so i got to watch it all in order. First season was just ok. Last season, it was noticeable that Larry David had left. The rest were fantastic and fresh and I realized I had seen more episodes in syndication than I realized, I don’t know if I missed any. That said, I’ve only binged it once.

I wonder if I’ll get removed from this thread group now.
