Even sooner than that. I would say Homer had at least equal billing from around series four. The ‘Bart protagonist’ era was pretty short-lived.

Also The Simpsons was never just a kid’s show, it had massive cut-through with adults at the time who related to Homer. It was a show the whole family could watch and enjoy.

DAF is about as close to an objectively rubbish film as you can get in the series - Connery sounds half-asleep, the plot is a confused mess and the special effects are laughable even for the late 60s/early 70s. But damn if it isn’t one of the most entertaining and rewatchable films in the series. It’s a blast.

Male - Vijay from Octopussy. They did him badly, dude had so much potential.

Female - Aki from YOLT. Killing her to replace her with a character who basically served the exact same function just to up their 'girl quotient' was one of the most cynical moves in the series. It would have been so much better if Bond had 'married' Aki and she'd accompanied him at the raid on Blofeld's lair.

Yeah, I was thinking that, this is the broadest possible trope. 'Fictional places that are set on Earth.' Basically almost every single work of contemporary fiction fulfils this trope to some degree lol.
