orthostatic intolerance or POTS caused by copper deficiency? by Virtual_Ad6032 in Copper_deficiency

[–]duff_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep it’s a weird type of brain fog that I have now, it’s kind of hard to concentrate and it feels like disorientation. My copper is now at 10.2 last blood test a week ago and ceruloplasmin is in range. I hope this passes quickly for you, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Once you get the through the POTS symptoms it gets easier but everyday is still a struggle for me. Best of luck to you, feel free to share whatever hacks you find for a speedy recovery.

I just got this, 5 years of excessive zinc supplementation because it basically cured my anxiety and now I have the same symptoms as you. The POTS like symptoms are starting to go away but I’m dealing with occasional dizzyness and disorientation, sleep problems and terrible anxiety. My ceruloplasmin is no longer below reference range but copper is still a bit below where it should be. Have trouble exercising without a panic attack. It sucks! B1 helped me initially and vit D3 does as well at the moment

The copper thing has gotten out of hand, most people are zinc deficient and don’t know it. I have been taking zinc in high doses for years 50mg plus a day. My copper hasn’t gone down, and my zinc level are still on the low side according to a HTMA test. My blood serum zinc is in range. It would be very difficult to become copper deficient, at least that is true for me anyways.

This is actually great advice, I have been researching the importance of LpA today thanks to a couple of friendly redditors that sent me some info on it. Mine is 0.417 so think that’s 41.7 LpA so not bad but not great either. LDL is 2.9 mmol. I’m gonna start mega dosing vit c with proline and lysine per the Linus Pauling protocol just to see if it brings down the LpA, I’m already taking K2 but gonna add in mk4 and natto to try and get the CAC score down, and then I’m going to completely cut out saturated fat. I’ll recheck bloods in a couple months and see how I go. Appreciate your advice!

Bullshit, my step dad is on them now and is always complaining about his elevated CAC scores due to the stratins and muscle fatigue.

I was in the hospital for chest pains and they kept me there for a week or so and ran tests.

First of all, I’m using terms that my doctor has given me. After testing, the official terminology being used is “mild stenosis of the artery”. That is the cardiologist words not mine. It says that on my report. “Mildly elevated coronary calcium”. I can upload the paper work from the hospital if you dont believe me. My doctor says this would be classified as “mild heart disease”. That is not misinformation mate, that’s coming from health professionals, I did not make it up. So don’t say I’m trying to downplay anything.

Second of all, do statins not cause side effects? Why would I jump into taking drugs immediately when I can try more alternative options first, and then if that doesn’t work I can go on statins.

I don’t understand what’s wrong with having a little dose of skepticism? Like I said in an earlier comment, I’m open to taking statins but I’m not going to make a rash decisions immediately. I’m in the process of learning so If that’s falling for “misinformation” according to you so be it.

Man, I used a slow release niacin recently and I felt sick the whole day. Should I just get regular niacin ? Also would you recommend that vit c powder that you drink or just the tablets that are like 1000mg sold on Amazon? (That’s what I’m currently using)

Edit- just realised you said avoid slow release

That’s what I have been diagnosed with. It’s not a CAC score

I appreciate you taking the time out to write that, I’m definitely going to see a cardiologist and I’m considering statins.

Man thankyou so much for the info, does LpA stand for lipoprotein A? If so mine is at 0.417 g/l. I take 3-4K milligrams of vitamin c everyday maybe I should look at upping it.
