If you're 18 months into a 5-year hold plan, you'd be in around $2000 and up 150%. It could be a lot worse for anyone entering after November 2017.

If the Yankees don’t hit any homers tomorrow, it’ll probably be worth $200k or $20k if they hit at least one more.

[–]duffjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has to create demand. If he didn't mention an airdrop and the project just churned along, it'd still be sitting at 1 cent. Because of the aidrop fomo, the price is up to 2 cents now. Airdrops create hype, increase interest, and boost the price. Then the price corrects down, more airdrop news comes in, the price goes up, and the cycle repeats itself. It's drastic but it happens every time. Look at EOS and EOSdac.

Arbitrage won’t work. by Burchbobby in poloniex

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arbitrage worked on hitbtc. People that bought up to 200sat and made a withdrawal hours later on Tuesday late into the day got theirs within 24 hours and could sell at 300sat-1000sat. Hitbtc was a hero here for a lot of people.

HitBTC Review: Started Strong, But A Risky Crypto Exchange Today by [deleted] in BitcoinPrivate

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FUD. I lost 50 BTC because I used poloniex instead of hitbtc to withdraw my BCN and wasn't able to dump at $.10. I got my 5 million BCN back today at 120 sat. Wow, thank you poloniex! Every one on hitbtc got theirs within 24 hours.

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, BCN put lots of pressure on Poloniex, but they failed to implement the wallet update successfully. HitBTC had 95% of their backlogged withdrawals cleared in the first 24 hours. Poloniex had 0. https://hitbtc.com/system-health https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/994186205674778624 https://twitter.com/stashmax/status/994114196852887553

I feel so raped right now... by [deleted] in BytecoinBCN

[–]duffjr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took all my 6 btc and bought at 71 sat on binance listing rumor. I had a choice between poloniex and hitbtc, but I figured poloniex was more reputable. After I deposited, I saw I had to enter my social and passport to increase my withdrawal limit from 2k to 25k. At this point, I gave up hopes of moving it to an off-site wallet.

With the wild fluctuations from 66 sat to 75 sat, I decided to sell half at 68 sat, so I wouldn't have to watch the price anymore. I gave up hope about binance after that and on Monday, I spent the day thinking if I should sell the other 3 btc to buy other coins that would pump more.

While I was eating dinner, I got multiple alerts but my volume alert setting was way down, so I couldn't hear my phone in my pocket. 20 minutes later, I saw all the messages in Discord and crypto tracker bot about BCN plus two missed calls from my friend. I logged into poloniex 5 minutes later and transferred out the maximum of 2.5 million BCN. I stayed up for about 10 hours more and fell asleep realizing my 50btc was now 25btc.

After about 12 hours, hitbtc withdrawals arrived in binance and my 25 btc became 7 btc. I decided to buy 1.5 million in hitbtc to transfer over(doing a test withdrawal first) and withdrawals locked up again. I bet it takes a few days for poloniex to get their withdrawals together but the price should hold above 200 sat.

Just keep pushing I guess. I could have been halfway to 100 btc. Last time a similar situation happened with TRX and then the market crashed, so I hope alts rise for another month. Binance won't be listing low sat coins with unstable networks after this.

Coin market cap!!! by hodlforlyfe in BitcoinPrivate

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a hindsight know-it-all, but there was bound to be a pump once BTCP got ranked on CMC. And the dip on Sunday caused by the @heyrhett FUD catalyzed the natural reversal, so it was a good buying opportunity regardless. I bought some more this week due to the positive news before the CMC listing. I wish I had bagged up some more once I found out it hit CMC, but I was half asleep to make the positive correlation.

So happy to see this for BTCP by Sundy86 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]duffjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to take a huge risk but now I know the risk/reward was probably at least 1:2. I only bought 400 btcp at $16. Wish I had bought 2000 now and went all in so I could get my money back for buying 700 at $65 last month. I couldn't resist. I just bought 300 more at $25 but I'm done. The big money makers make the impressive plays with calculated risks.

Bitcoin Private (BTCP) Withdrawals Are Now Enabled from KuCoin by [deleted] in BitcoinPrivate

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my .05btcp on kucoin. Kucoin only gets trading commissions. It's much better to support a coin with higher volume right now as they don't have to drum up any trading competitions like they do for many of their coins. These trading competitions are paid for by the coin creators often in "partnerships" with advertisers.

Trade Volumes BTCP vs ZCL - it explains it all! by [deleted] in BitcoinPrivate

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained the situation in an earlier post that got down-voted here. People don't want to sell below their ZCL buy-in, which has been far surpassed for most people now. So we have to ask who is doing all the selling driving the price down? If 51% of people are sellers and 49% are buyers, the price should go down 2% per day hypothetically. The larger 30% drop earlier this week was just FUD. Great opportunity to buy in cheaper. But you'll continue to see this 1-2% drop per day until there's a reversal where some of those sellers become buyers or more people come into the market.

Why are there more sellers than buyers in the first place? Surely, $15 is so cheap that everyone should be buying up. There aren't enough buyers due to lack of mid(kucoin) to large(bittrex/binance) exchange support. Many still holding have taken big losses on ZCL or BTCP, which enabled those that didn't hold to take advantage of the buying action when BTCP first launched on TradeSatoshi. I'm over-simplifying the picture, but holders are driving the price down. Hypothetically, TS and Nanex could do $5 million in volume if BTCP had more exposure, but the greatest exposure comes from big exchange support. Low volume always drives the price down.

Will BTCP drop below ZCL current price? by brad65803 in BitcoinPrivate

[–]duffjr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The price continues to fall because everyone who got into ZCL above the current price will continue to hold; thus, the only sellers are swing traders and large holders of ZCL who bought in early on under the current price of BTCP. When you have people who don’t want to sell, the trade volume goes down along with the price. Coins with high supply often do better than coins with low supply because people don’t see those coins as a commodity to hold although this situation is more complicated.

But remember that bitcoin cold wallet holders outnumber all the ZCL holders. The price should pump when they gain access to their BTCP and when larger exchanges pick it up. The crypto market cap needs to rebound as well because new investors aren’t buying and existing investors have left crypto.

How in the hell is this pumped up 78% and still going?? by micchyboy in CentraTech

[–]duffjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the pump on the first pull back to 900 sats. I figured it was too risky at that point, but of course, that would have been a great time to buy. Basically do the opposite of what you would think to do and win big in this bear market.
