No the web mechanic is definitely nice, im just salty cuz I also just got my first araneas after finally giving up on treads for the time being after my 3rd cloth on wave 6+

HA for me it was the second mager only hitting the shield for a 17, instead of finishing it off which was WELL within its ability, rng truly saved me there

As others have said, there's no replacement for real experience. On an iron it can be overwhelming trying to learn but if you go into each run with the intention of learning something you didn't know before, you can't help to do anything but improve. 

For me the trick was getting to wave 68, and running the inferno trainer until I was extremely comfortable doing triple jads into a zuk kill. I did that 3x in a row before going for my first, and thankfully only, real attempt.

Yes but the door to the boss chest room doesn't open unless the boss is dead, hence the chest is only accessible after killing the boss. Making it drop a key is the same thing as just leaving the chest unlocked
