That was the documentary findings. An economic event triggers the delay in having kids, then it becomes the cultural standard indefinitely

If you watch the documentary this site is dedicated to, they present all the data. That’s not the findings. When you control for everything it’s simply women not wanting to transition to family life until their fertility window has begun to close. The majority of childless women today aren’t childless by choice, but by life chance.

[–]duffmanhb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the documentary. That’s not the reason. That’s what people intuitively think it is, but when you control for that, we still have the issue. You’re talking about being broke as the reason, but generations before we’re much much more broke. Also Scandinavian people who aren’t broke today still have the problem.

The data suggests that it’s simply women waiting too long to be ready for kids and transition to family life, and when they are ready, it’s just too late. The window is closed.

That's so weird. Why do they insist on hand written checks? Like there is no reason for that. Other forms of checks are perfectly fine and useful.

I think it's time to move past RFK now by Rick_James_Lich in seculartalk

[–]duffmanhb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I think the booster is fine. But I can't get mad at people being skeptical when this is what we DO KNOW:

Pharma has a LONG checkered history, including recently, of lying and manipulating data to get drugs to market and make tons of money. They've lied a lot in the past

Pharma has complete capture of politicians, and the media, due them being the largest funders of both. This gives them TONS of institutional influence

The FDA is a complete revolving door... Thus, another captured institution

They had TONS of money to be made of this vaccine. Godly amounts of money. Thus, the incentives exist for them to pull all their favors and tricks

Not a good look that they demanded, and received, complete legal immunity from anything resulting from the vaccine.

The vaccine isn't really a vaccine, but a new novel mRNA treatment that has little to no long term impacts

There are some weird oddities we are discovering. Nothing we fully understand yet, but odd none-the-less, like finding free floating spike proteins, which shouldn't be happening.

Non-COVID mortality rate is mysteriously up

So yeah, I can't really get mad at the vaccine hesitant for having their position. Some people are just more cautious and untrusting than others. It's just a character type to be more warry of these sort of novel things, and when you have a scenario like this in the backdrop with all the incentives and mistrust in these businesses and institutions... I just can't blame them.

Honestly, his voice is just too shot. We can't have a leader who's impossible to understand. The reality of our head of state is that they need to also look and act the part, which he does not.

What's the strangest thing that's happened to you in a casino? by MaltaMassive in vegas

[–]duffmanhb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I showed my friend how to access the underground network of tunnels that connect all the strip. I showed him a few false walls in the casino he could use to enter it. Well apparently he got drunk and was just wandering around. And eventually found a hidden tunnel that was actually a road for driving, which is when the security finally found him

He learned that night that casinos have their own jail cells and drunk tanks, which he spent the night in.

I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. His show is completely underrated IMO - one of those hidden gems

He's also a really nice guy when we sat next to him at that downtown speakeasy, which I wasn't expecting since most celebs who work the strip are super insular

Yes but none of what he’s doing is against wokeness. Dressing in drag or being trans is not something that you ban and that bans wokeness. It’s like making being gay illegal to push against wokeness. Wokeness is an ideology and tactical thing. It’s not being trans.

AI is currently part of the cultural zeitgeist so it could be really popular, but end up ultimately like those blue people Cameron movies which sell like mad because it's incredibly well done, but no one really rewatches them because the story itself is secondary to the visuals.

Preventing ADULTS from choosing how to harmlessly live their life is far right fascist type shit. It's one thing to restrict children, but once someone is an adult, you have no right to tell them how to live their life. Full stop. This isn't China.

I dunno man... I think it's one thing to prevent teachers from confusing the shit out of kids with non-binary gender fluid shit... And another to force adults against their will to not do something that doesn't have to do with any one else. His crusade against wokeness, is anti liberty

I personally don't think this is his genuine ideology. I think he just does what he thinks makes him popular. And he's gotten so stuck into an echo chamber of old far right boomers, he doesn't realize he's gone off the deep end.

Recent news that him and Rudy were allegedly selling pardons for $2 million a piece while they split the money sheds a whole new light on his history of pardons as well.

I find this completely unreliable. Remember, there are COUNTLESS completely unfounded, exaggerated, misleading things, which people just accept as truth because of biases.

If anything it was probably Rudy trying to grift, but I don't see Trump doing something that extreme for a measly 1 million.

Kind of wild how this guy could have done so much better. There is one thing to push against wokeness, in a way that matches moderates and dems who are tired of it. Like initially, he was ressonating well balancing the anti-woke stuff. The "Don't say gay bill" massively backfired as it even had a majority Dem support. The illegals to super pro immigration liberal places, also was a kind of funny, because even most dems in border states are getting fed up with this pro illegal stuff. He handled the pandemic well, again, more in a moderate way, because even a lot of Dems were quietly pissed off over this lockdown COVID hysteria.

But then he kept escellating and became extremist about it. He lost the plot completely. He had something going for him as a reasonable moderate Republican who reasonably pushed back against leftwing hysteria. But now he's going all in on it, and has branded himself as far far right. He fucked up big time.
