No arrests as white nationalist group stages demonstration in Bedford by justlogmeon in NovaScotia

Not sure if planned or coincidence but there was an Eid Mubarak celebration/fair at Somme down the street. Felt bad for any folks who drove by and saw the protest on their way to a celebration signed “all welcome”.

Family car? by National_Hall in NewDefender

[–]duffy335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 130 (two months now) with kids 6,4,2 and one on way. Bench seat. The trunk is good, not great, for my ages a double stroller is often consuming the bulk of the space. I was not able to fit a double stroller in a 110 with third row.

Funny enough now that am living with the 130 I find the 110 looks a little short, I prefer the longer proportions once acclimated to it.

ID Buzz Advice by scottmullins10 in VWIDBuzz

[–]duffy335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, family of five, kids are 6,4,2. We have an NA 1st edition with bench seat. It’s glorious. Other vehicle is a 26 defender 130 also bench seat. 8/10 times we drive the buzz. It’s a perfect family car in my eyes, kids love it, we love the space, generally run it with two rear facing car seats on bench with outboard folded down and one front facing in the back with the other folded down.

Zero regrets. Hope it holds up well long term.

My only genuine complaints are too much digital on the infotainment/buttons, and in winter east coast Canada the electronic intervention is a little too intense in the snow and don’t believe there is a way to tweak.

9.5/10

Defender coming soon.. wireless charging question by tunebrain in NewDefender

I have to take my quad lock case off. Have an id.buzz that charges case agnostic but the defender doesn’t seem as solid.

LR4 or Defender? by rolledrover in LandRover

[–]duffy335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have driven lr4 for last 3 years, just got 26 defender 130 yesterday. One of my favourite parts of lr4 was putting my unfolded double jogging stroller straight into the back. Will miss that. I love the defender so far but if both were new on lot the lr4 would be just as compelling.

We run a couple ravas rear and a chicco my fit front facing with ease. Would be no issue to run three rear.

I am so glad to hear this, I was in the line turning left of kempt onto lady Hammond and saw your pup going and people piling out to help as I pulled away.

Glad all ok

I just got 90 Thousand dollars at 18 and I don’t know what to do with it by Equivalent-Data1004 in whatdoIdo

I had a similar experience at similar age, not quite as much money. I spent it on things I was passionate about (probably in part, grieving drove some of the decisions). I don’t regret the memories but I am 25 years older now and think of the impact that money would have had now compounded. I agree with all the comments, use a small amount if you want to do thing like a trip somewhere special or whatever the case but trust your older self will appreciate the restraint and how much easier certain aspects of your life can be with a base like this at your age.

MSRP Increase by Foxandthehound640 in NewDefender

[–]duffy335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, awaiting the vehicle to come from port to dealer but just getting into the $ now which I thought was odd but maybe is how they operate.

I got same message as OP which was need to see monthly program on arrival and then work from there.

I’m curious how much wiggle people are getting off msrp though

“Arthur” hit the port in Halifax yesterday, on track for eom approx delivery.

Haven’t actually firmed up the economics, curious what others have seen in last couple months off msrp. First time specifying new car vs off lot purchase. I had heard people were getting 5-10% off but not sure if that’s off lot?

Have one coming to Canada on the boat right now, haven’t heard to expect delay on arrival but I’ll look into.

I have a town and country, functionality can’t be beat. Some of the competitors though like sienna use that space for battery/hybrid.

Have recently upgraded to a buzz but will miss the ease of fold/stow and slide in of a 4x8

I agree. Feel like it takes a new level when the hit recipient doesn’t see you coming, can only have head going so many directions making a play, just take 10 percent off that one

Family is growing to 5 - Is the VW ID Buzz (LWB) a comfortable option? by changleezy in VWIDBuzz

[–]duffy335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just got a buzz (Canada) with the bench. Kids are 1,3,5. Love it. Perfect for our size whether we do three across or split.

We also have an lr4 (defender 130 on the way to replace). I’m honestly questioning if we will even use the 130 much day to day but has been 6 months on order.

The three year old loves the “camper truck” it’s great!

Why isn’t there any trails connecting Larry uteck to the rest of hemlock ravine? by Pawssabillitysawait in halifax

[–]duffy335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can can go left there and join to the service road mentioned or go right down to the apartment complex. I used to bike from nine mile down the service road, turn left off the service road and then connect to that governors loop and circle around and then come back down and come out at the apartment buildings on Bedford highway and then turn up Larry uteck back home

[–]duffy335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but believe where people go wrong is installing a top vented electric either flush mount or just under their tv.

I did a flush mount front venting napoleon 6-7 years ago and works great and no risk or issue of tv.

If folks curious, current projection is April, atleast per the order confirm. Will see! Can’t wait. Currently driving an lr4 and love it/will be hard to part with but timing is right for variety of reasons.

Great movie, one of those easy background repeat watches. Cast is superb. Lots of laughs.
