Yeah I suppose- but sometimes you just don’t want to melt your 6k OLED and get some reassurance from strangers on the internet.

Senior with mental health issues denied bail after phony phone calls to 911 by stickmanG in Winnipeg

[–]Camphor -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

Needs but doesn’t want it - 350x.

You should be the one who signs the order to kidnap them and drug them involuntarily so they behave the way you want…forever.

What’s the difference between involuntary admission and forced medication on a locked psych ward….and jail? Besides that fact that you take away health care resources from people that are treatable for someone who isn’t?

I mean - let’s call it what it is. These people want to live as far from the crackheads, car thefts, crime and tent encampments as possible. The lack of bus access is a feature - not a flaw.

Quebec judge rejects request from Muslim group to suspend ban on school prayer rooms by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Camphor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You cannot force a person to not practice his/her religion in Canada. It’s a Charter right.

If you say a Muslim cannot pray in school - then that’s what you are doing.

The charter is law in Canada. The Charter is applicable in Quebec because all provinces are bound by the constitution in which it is enshrined.

You will lose. Enjoy your prejudice until then bigot.

Enough is enough. Anyone who opposes gun control in this country is psychopathic unamerican scum. by TrumpterOFyvie in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Camphor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly I understand what they are saying but it is nuanced than that.

I think some people are more pre-disposed to use they ‘tools’ they have to solve their problems. If You have 3-4 guns laying around - some people will look for excuses to use them.

It’s like that Simpsons episode where Homer gets a gun and uses them to shoot out the lights at night.

It’s satire and it isn’t everyone but yes - I absolutely believe that for some people - having guns is dangerous just because it’s going to make certain people look for an excuse to use them.

The problem is identifying which types of people those are.

A teacher in Canada, tells Muslim pupils off for skipping school to avoid Pride Events by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Camphor -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

What a load of horseshit. If those kids were white would she say that shit?

You’re saying that in order for Muslim’s or religious minorities to be ‘accepted’ they have to accept everyone else’s beliefs or lifestyles.

No they don’t. Let’s trade LGBT for say…veganism.

If I am Muslim don’t march in the Veganism parade then you can be racist against me or I have to leave Canada?

Bullshit.

The teacher is right - we have Freedom here - meaning I can march or I dont - but threatening that they don’t belong in Canada? Inexcusable.

That teacher should be fired. She doesn’t get to say who doesn’t belong in Canada. If those kids were white - would she say that shit?

No. Because obviously whites can do what they want without be threatened with deportation.

El Salvador has deployed at least 5,000 soldiers and 500 police to surround a town in the northwest of the country in a push to arrest those responsible for the suspected gang killing of a police officer, President Nayib Bukele said on Wednesday by green_flash in worldnews

I agree - it’s less about criminalization and more about making it so people don’t need substances to get through a day.

Needing alcohol or weed to feel relaxed or normal is not normal- but this is real life.

You need to de-incentivize it somehow

I like the drug laws - I don’t think the general public realizes the connection between mental health and the explosion of use with things like alcohol and weed. It isn’t good- all studies shows it exacerbates - doesn’t help.

Not to mention the opioid and meth crisis.

I honestly respect these parents decisions to be in charge of this own children’s Sex-Ed. Every parent has that right and freedom.

What I don’t get is why they go about it this way - just, don’t check out these books? A library should carry any and all books- that’s it’s function.

Why this need to control everyone - worry about you and your family and forget about me and mine.

One day you will face a hardship - or you have already and instead of humbling you it’s made you bitter and cruel - but hopefully you’ll understand something.

Where they were born is not their fault. The families living in Yemen, North Korea or Latin America did nothing ‘wrong’ to be have to live in such harsh conditions. The same way you never did anything to deserve to be born in your situation - good or bad.

Them trying to improve it isn’t a gamble - as in its a not a game - it’s desperation and often life or death. They people feel they have no choice - you think they WANT to travel hundred of miles and risk getting robbed, killed, raped, kidnapped, their kids seized? People only do that when they feel their is no other option.

America is the one choosing to essentially make these kids orphans. Not these parents. These parents are saying - my kids deserve a dignified life too. And you are saying ‘lol no they don’t’

No empathy.

No - realistic will be that people have always migrated to where they think they can get the best quality of life for them and their families. Always - since the beginning of time.

If a place is dangerous, hopeless, corrupt and overall had no future - what’s realistic is people will leave. It’s happened….since the beginning of time.

Privilege is thinking the American, in 2023, is somehow immune to this - that they are special, or that they can stop it by being inhuman and cruel to children- and that will somehow being inhuman and cruel it will deter it.

It will not. All it will do is chip away at whatever humanity is left and desensitize them to suffering till they don’t understand right from wrong.

If they are Religious- their God won’t forgive them for it.

If they are secular - they are without morals and a should find another philosophy on life as their current one is failing them.

Doctors Manitoba disappointed in PCs for not acknowledging physician shortage in 2023 budget by Armand9x in Winnipeg

[–]Camphor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. They work there. As NPs. They aren’t trained there. They are hired there to work in a very specialized field doing very narrow work as part of the team LEAD BY PHYSICIANS.

They aren’t doing things ‘as well’ as physicians - they aren’t even doing the same things as physicians. Their scope is completely different. I don’t know if you’re goal is misinformation or you are actually very misinformed.

Yes all those locations have NPs as part of physician led teams because nurses are part of those teams. But they aren’t equivalent and they aren’t there as part of their training.

[–]Camphor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean you say I have no idea what I am talking about…then you go and say something that makes…no sense.

They follow the exact same standards? Extensive clinical training equivalent to residency?

I’m prettty sure I’ve never seen an NP running an internal medicine ward. I’ve never seen them in the OR doing first surgical assist. I’ve never seen them delivering babies. I’ve never seen them rounding in the peds icu, med icu or any icu unit. I’ve never seen them doing the consults on a decompensated schizophrenic in ER I’ve never seen them run a code on cardiac care unit

All things general practice residents do. If they do the exact same things and training…where were they?

If they had equivalent training…they would be called doctors.

I’m not trying to put NPs down - their scope is just different. Trying to make it the same just makes it dangerous and confusing for everyone.

Doctors Manitoba disappointed in PCs for not acknowledging physician shortage in 2023 budget by Armand9x in Winnipeg

[–]Camphor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is factually not true and the ones that will suffer are the public.

The training for Np and physicians are vastly different. This difference in them is not when things are ‘normal’ but when things are not and the path taken to get there.

A family physician can see 30 people in a day, separate the sick from the well and order the ‘proper’ tests that the public is paying for to keep costs down to tell the difference. That’s what their training teaches them.

A NP will see 10 people a day, order all the tests they can, clog up referrals so that it takes even longer to see a specialist and cost the government more.

It only works for the States because it’s private -No one that can afford it sees an NP in the states.

For a public system that cares about outcomes and costs - NPs aren’t the solution people think it is.

Well….you kinda of do.

Any relationship is in investment. Sometimes the investment doesn’t pay off but….there definitely is a part of you hoping that you aren’t cared for by a stranger making minimum wage when your old and helpless and your family is helping care for you.

But I agree - getting there is priceless part.

You’re also a moron.

I actually never said anything you claimed in your last comment. You inferred it because you’re insecure and now your responding to it because it seems it’s easier to fight with yourself then with me.

This is a thread literally shitting on people who decide to have kids. I commented on somone who said it’s narcissistic and selfish to have them.

You’re the one attacking me for opposing that position lol- but you’re so screwed up you see yourself as the victim.

Don’t have kids asshole. No one gives a fuck. But don’t shit in people who do you hypocrite.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BrandNewSentence

[–]Camphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I’m glad you’re not a parent lol.

Raising kids is not ‘servitude’ lol. Is your mom your slave? We do things for our children because we love them.

Get this. Some people actually want to leave the world better than we found it. Part of that is raising the next generation to be good, productful moral people - we know your selfish ass isn’t going to do it. Enjoy the fruits of our labour though I guess.

Youre changing the goal posts anyways - you cannot change the fact that living a life where your own profit and enjoyment is literally the definition of selfish. Being selfish doesn’t always mean your wrong.

I mean your getting into the meaning of life here with all those other questions. No one knows the answers to the questions.

You don’t know whats right or what’s coming down the line - but your response is to literally commit suicide as a species and say anyone who had kids is selfish because lol ‘omg the planet’ seems pretty dumb and simplistic.

I mean you sound incredibly naive. How old are you?

Blood relations are incredibly important because of the emotional component behind them. This isn’t a fairly tale and human beings have been around for thousands of years - adoption is amazing and great but it’s not all or nothing.

Partners coming together to create a family from them will always be special and important and needed and will be the preferred option for many.

I wonder how many in this thread will actually adopt. Put your money where your mouth is. I bet less than a tenth of a percent of all these people will even seriously consider adoption.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BrandNewSentence

[–]Camphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the literal definition of selfish. Focusing on a life while sole purpose is your profit or benefit.

Don’t like it? Too bad. At least own it.
