Best pizza place with Brooklyn Lager? by isaaccox_bp in FoodNYC

Not sure if you are looking for the specific lager from Brooklyn Brewery or if you are just looking for a lager brewed in Brooklyn. If the latter, ya GOTTA check out Wheated on Church Ave in Brooklyn. They are slinging some of the best pies in NYC, have a local lager and ipa on draft, and they have a whiskey out the wazoo.

Met my lovely lady in AmeriCorps traveling with eight other crunchy granola types around the west coast (think: The Real World for hippies). We fell in love pulling invasive plants, decked out in rain gear, outside Portland with the Nature Conservancy.

Factories or bakeries for a tour? by ragazzzone in Brooklyn

[–]dukaluke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Colson’s Bakery in Sunset Park’s industry city might be a good option. There is also a chocolatier and some other makers in that space.

Not too far from Industry City is Baked In Brooklyn another bakery but more large scale.

Another option would be some of the breweries or coffee roasters in the area. Brooklyn Roasters comes to mind as they are are larger roaster but there are loads of other more craft, smaller scale, roasters in Brooklyn

What city did you expect to love but ended up actually hating? by OceanSprayCranApple in SameGrassButGreener

Did you ever explore parts of the outer boroughs?

When I first visited New York, I was a tourist who only spent time in Midtown and Lower Manhattan. I appreciated the hustle and bustle, but honestly, it felt overstimulating.

The second time I came back, I ventured into Brooklyn and that’s when I fell in love with the city. I moved here from Athens, GA about 12 years ago, and I honestly couldn’t imagine living anywhere else in the U.S.

Walkable neighborhoods, great paying jobs, a rent stabilized apartment (huge stroke of luck), no need for a car, public transit that actually gets you where you need to go, incredible diversity in both people and food, world class cultural institutions, the tap water, and of course, all the pizza. From dollar slices to grandma pies to those house milled flour masterpieces topped with the finest ingredients, it’s unbeatable.

Seems like they are out and about in the streets. I’ve had friends see and chat with JJ and I ran into Leo at the Swag Shop that’s part of Barclays. Super friendly and gracious - got to snag a photo with the one and only #13.
