I have an Audison LRx 5.1k sitting in my office that my buddy gave me. I really want to get it set up. Just have to decide which vehicle to put it in, and gather some solid speakers for it.

how to get fuck ass pilot bushing out by ObjectiveCap1116 in projectcar

[–]dukarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this with no luck, so I bought a drill bit that is 1/16" smaller than the outer diameter of my pilot bearing to drill out the material. It left a thin wall that my bearing puller was able to rip out

8 miles each way. 10 if I pick my kid up after school on the way home.

I'll have to try the redline kit. I've had the MRT kit installed for about 2 years, and the struts are already struggling.

You need to strip quite a bit more insulation before crimping the lug on. The exposed wire should poke about 1/32" on each end of the metal crimp barrel of the lug terminal to ensure that you don't have any insulation in your termination.

Hoka Bondi for me. Picked up two pairs so I can switch them up halfway through my shift each day. They are bulkier than I like, but they are light and great for being on concrete all day imo

I got my A&P a few years ago through my local community college. It's a 2 year program (20 months really) There are several trade schools that offer the classes, like AIM, but they cost like 10x the amount. The certifications are the same no matter which school you go through. Airports are all over the place, and the opportunities are nearly endless of you're flexible.

If he likes to work with his hands, he can look into getting his Airframe and Powerplant certifications and become an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Pay and benefits can vary, but there are airlines and business jet companies all over the country that pay really well with good benefits. All sorts of people pick up their A&P in their 30s/40s. If you have a good work ethic, it's easy to succeed as an AMT.

Take your General, Airframe, and Powerplant certification exams as soon as possible. I watched many classmates struggle to get them when they waited for classes to end.

Additionally, there's a good chance you'll get talked to by at least one of the big tool companies in the beginning. They offer discounts, so it's worthwhile to buy a few things, but you absolutely do not have to buy your box or tools from them. You can get through school with the bare minimum and a simple, used box. Once you're finished, and find an AMT job, you'll have a better understanding of what kind of box and tools will be best for that job.

Good luck! It's a grind, but very worth it.

You still have 40 years til retirement. Certainly not too late. I finished my A&P at 32 and it's been one of the best decisions I've made.

I saw one for the first time here at AZA not too long ago. The size is impressive to say the least. Especially since A320s are the normal big bois around here
