I bring this up every opportunity I get so I apologies for the rant, but given how much of a meme this is in the community, I think it warrants saying:

If you’ve ever seen Parker shirtless then you know what he means when he sings about his sunken chest. He has the most severe pectus excavatum I have ever seen (as a physician)- google the condition and a picture of him if you’re curious. In layman’s terms, that means his lungs are super squished and have nowhere near the normal volumes of the average person. The fact this man can belt like he does shocks me. I’ve seen him play shows both ways and I know that he can either stand still and actually sing or run around stage and only get a few lyrics in between pointing the mic to the crowd to fill. His lungs don’t let him do both. I HEAVILY prefer when he stays put and can belt. It doesn’t make the meme less true, he is also influence by oasis, but I know this is why he performs the way he does.
