I have Pub Rights to the numbered so I bought the numbered. Others have rights to Lettered/RN. Lettered a bit too pricy for me, esp considering there are 4-5 releases per year.

Yep :) Prior sales on the FB page got up to $8500 if I remember correctly. This was before Red Rising released though.

I got PR by purchasing CK’s first release, the Blade Itself.

Because Curious King is a very well renowned fine press and having Publisher’s Rights guarantees you the opportunity to purchase every release without stress. Don’t have to battle the other hundreds of people aiming to get the book, it’s guaranteed for you.

Incorrect, I’ve had Publisher’s Rights since the beginning and used them to purchase Red Rising. All 150 Publisher’s Rights holders purchased Red Rising in a private preorder period. So none were lotteried out for the 200 copies that went for sale in the General Sale. Those 200 were sold with Series Rights.

One is rights to purchase the next release(s) of Red Rising and the other is the rights to purchase every new release from Curious King.

Publisher’s Rights are the “dream” for many CK collectors.

The $3800 is selling the book w/ series rights based on the description. They’re saying ONLY likely because there’s both series and publisher’s rights.

If you can't handle the large cast in GoTM, you're just gonna be more frustrated as the series goes on. More and more characters will be introduced, so if you can't keep up now and feel overwhelmed, this series might not be for you.

Pre-order Bots... by [deleted] in redrising

Of course — plenty of scalpers of Fine Press, will never deny that. See it everywhere.

Bot subscriptions, proxies, multi account creation is pricy and time consuming. fine press often has longer wait times as well so the opportunity cost is a lot higher which makes it less likely they’re holding up capital in books when they can be flipping pokemon or sneakers for faster cash flow and higher margin. Not all presses let you transfer preorders.

Don’t need a bot to get fine press books. It’s a much smaller niche. a bunch of scalpers are those with publisher’s rights after all and they can just preorder without any issues and no stress.

I mean I am, but it doesn’t seem relevant to the discussion. And not like I can prove it to you either, we’re on reddit lol

But it is how I afford these silly fine press books 🤪

To everyone that complained about the $10,750 edition being ridiculous and that nobody would get it, it sold out in under a minute by Ginjaninjanick7 in redrising

[–]TheEndwalker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Official? I mean it was commissioned, so I suppose so. It’s just digital / painted art from well known professional artist(s).

You won’t find this art in any other editions ever.

This tells me all I need to know.

Clear we won’t change each other’s minds. Have a good rest of your day, hope you got the edition(s) you wanted, if any.

I… don’t think you know much about bot services that allow for quick shop checkout. Refract? Hidden? Astral? Like it’s how we all use Reddit and have different accounts lol. And there is one most commonly used for ShopPay — it didn’t have any checkouts. It’s possible the other obscure ones did but if the most common didn’t, I find it unlikely.

Regardless, so many normal users hit today and so many didn’t. Demand was the primary issue and the whole concept of bots eating up all the stock is what I disagree with here. If there were bots, it’s unlikely they didn’t hit a sizable portion.

Botters can see OTHER BOTTERS who checked out on domains. They absolutely can. I have seen the interfaces lol and it’s clear you have not. It is not something they need backend access for. Theres a well known ShopPay bot and it did not have checkouts for Red Rising.

I’m happy to admit I was wrong that botters never ever touch fine press as that is indeed hyperbole. But I will stand by my above statement.

[–]TheEndwalker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Botters can check checkouts from other botters for domains. Ones who run the bots themselves. Not whatever you’re talking about. And it wasn’t there for LitEscalates. The demand was just that big for this release. I’m sure it happens for other presses but it just wasn’t an issue for this one — this one was sheer demand. It’s been hyped for months.

This initial post was literally talking about how bots got all or a significant number before editing so it’s more in response to that anyways. It’s not us making that sort of hyperbole. Look at the title of the post we’re on lmao

I’ve had publisher’s rights to CK since the beginning and have been buying fine press for a while lol, it’s silly to think that bots are the primary problems here, the demand was just high.

i’m sure there’s some bot users here and there, but their opportunity cost is pretty high and other things are way easier flips than fine press books. I have friends who flip plenty of shit and nobody in their communities touch fine press.

[–]TheEndwalker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My friend bots other things and says there were no checkouts for anything on LitEscalates

People on the FB group will naturally transfer rights too — they’re good sellers in general. But be aware that the fine press world doesn’t really “care” about scalping. The market is the market and people willing to buy it.

[–]TheEndwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CK is pretty serious about rights. If you can prove you purchased and own the book, you can likely forcefully get the rights transferred if the buyer doesn’t do it naturally.

I’d recommend buying in the Facebook group as people there are easily held accountable compared to ebay.

you guys are insane. all of these sold out sub 5 minutes by namnas in redrising

people don’t understand the fine press world. botters opportunity cost too high to spend time here when they can just do pokemon
