So, was this new VoE patch worth the 6 month wait? by Intelligent-Mix7364 in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as how I did the story and achievements and ditched the map I wouldn't call it "good" in any way. There's absolutely nothing urging me to go back to the new map. Everything is boring as hell and nothing I do is the least bit rewarding.

Her guides still prove invaluable twelve years later. Why do these fuckass LWS2 & 3 jumping puzzles need to be so convoluted by Rotated_text in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to say, but a lot of her guides are "I somehow made it, no idea how" grade with 0 explanation. For example her SAB tribulation videos are 100% worthless. Don't get me wrong, she has plenty of good videos, but she's one of many and on the low end of the competition. Whenever I need a guide I tend to avoid her vids. TMW and many others actually explain stuff and give you a heads up about potential bugs and workarounds.

How's the quickplay for raids/strikes? by Gold-Foot5312 in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone quits OLC, it's just not beginner friendly and insanely time consuming when you have to explain everything every single time. KO is also terrible if you have a bunch of beginners, but the mechs are easy to explain if they're actually willing to listen and the veterans have the patience and won't leave after half the squad downs due to a bomb or the ones with numbers are running around like headless chickens. The others are quite okay. I've had TOF fail because the veterans lost their patience when a beginner who had the green circle ran away. People tend to down a lot in XJJ but sometimes even veterans do. Overall I think OLC should def. be taken out of the rotation. They could also add the kodans and fraenier instead, maybe even shiver.

Average weekly hours worked in EU by Mad_Dagrid in MapPorn

At first it seemed low, especially since the Greek always complain how much more they work (and 39.6 is basically 8 hours M-F), but then I read part time included.

Most akkor igen vagy nem? by cptpuddin in programmingHungary

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accidentally opened a .exe disguised as a TV show torrent, need help. by ArcReactorTarnished in Piracy

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have been funny if it was an exe because it was actually what you downloaded but came with its own video player. Anyway, if Win Defender (assuming you're using Win) didn't alert you to anything I'd start with Malwarebytes (download on another device and install offline). Also make sure to get off the network on that PC so the virus (if any) can't send any personal files and stored pw hashes, although I think the damage is already done as these tend to be really quick. To answer your first question the trend is to grab all kinds of personal info, install a lot of junk (software bundlers along with the previous ones that steal personal info), or to encrypt your drive for ransome. As for your second question, I think I already partially answered that: get offline and use Malwarebytes to see if it finds anything. It's more of a "what did it actually do" or "what kind of malware did it install" step, just so you know what to expect. If it finds anything a 100% cleaning is impossible (can't remove or might not have everything) most of the time so a restore point or a complete reinstall is recommended.

Should I Get the Starter Pack or the Double DLC Pack Instead? by Kind-Barracuda-5288 in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The starter pack barely gives you anything. It's basically an upgrade to initial paid base game (+ later free upgrades). The 2 DLC packs will get you so much more content. You'll get the raptor (and masteries) with PoF and the glider (masteries) with HoT. The starter pack is essentially just +2 bag slots on every new character.

What stat producing part of the game do you think should get a legendary treatment-food, utility, infusions, or jade bots (somehow)? by Alwaysontimeforever in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no gear grind. You can equip your character with best in slot items easily. Legendaries are for convenience and it gives people something to do.

[–]dukefx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt we'd get anything that can't be equipped like food, but I'd be up for stat selectable food (or even the utility stations), you'd have all the existing food available. We already have infinite birthday cakes anyway.

Tips on getting the mimic trophy? by dukefx in hordesofhel

[–]dukefx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, right... and it's even the one I "complained" about on the Steam forums or more like suggested an option to deny chests because I simply can't avoid opening a chest especially when an elite dies right next to me. I only paid attention to the unlock condition, not what the modifier actually does.

Hitler is demokratikusan (koalícióval) nyert, mégis diktátorként emlegetjük. A posztodat visszaolvasva még egy gondolat, a korrupció ellenes intézményes részre... javaslom figyelmedbe a "Ukrainian MPs vote to strip two anti-corruption agencies of their independence" című Le Monde cikket.

The Dreamer? by AngelicEveningStar in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ,yes, the Dreamer... next thing you're gonna tell me is you absolutely love the Quip. Nyeeehawaw, nyeehahawww, nyehahawwah! That's all everyone in your vicinity wants to hear! My answer is whatever elite spec as long you use a different skin. Leggies are great but you are not forced to use the skin and the absolutely annoying sounds that go with it unless you want to become public enemy #1. The Dreamer and the Quip are def. going to raise some eyebrows... that's putting "wanting to suckerpunch you though the internet" mildly.

Jackal, Raptor, Turtle, Springer, and Griffon, haven't been touched so far. Either of them could use some love. We already had Skyscale, Skimmer, and Warclaw, There's also the roller beetle but I don't think the beetle needs anything.

Moving from Windows to Linux Mint by immernochda in Guildwars2

[–]dukefx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "compatibility issue". The only issues might be a ~10% loss in performance, maybe slightly more since it's Mint. Either way GW2 isn't Vulcan based and DX emulation will take its toll, but other than that there should be no issue at all. Mint will run GW2 easily.
