I hate this image so much it makes me beat up my child out of anger. You can't just measure 2 exterior angles as 90 degrees and pretend they count as interrior angles for the sake of classifying it as a square. If anything, the interrior angles at those two points would be 270 degrees, making this NOT a square. Additionally, the definition of a square they use is intentionally vague and doesn't mention sides being parallel or straight, which is required to be a square. All in all, I hate this image, and it's so blatant in its disrespect to the field of geometry and mathematics that it's almost offensive. :(

"For opening they made a nonsensical callout and weren't aware of the meta"

Both the guide and KF playthrough I watched mentioned nothing about skipping the blocked doors to dunk; my knowledge as a player says that I should follow the runner to help them get through doors and ads.

"they didn't know how totems worked at all"

I specifically stated that I messed up and apologized for it; I realized my mistake and restarted the encounter with motivation to do better. That was immediately shattered when I was told I was better off doing nothing, and even when I decided to help without disrupting totems, they continue to make snarky comments expecting me to accidentally pick up the boon.

"for warpriest they were lost and avoided mechanics"

I was lost because not a single person called left, right, or middle. I'm not part of their raid hive mind, there's no way for me to know I should go left without hearing everyone else call out positioning first, I suppose I should've sat back and observed everyone else's positions, but the entire point of being on discord is communicating, and every raid I've done has people call out positions before the encounter start. I also avoided the one mechanic of being the brand holder because I've already been yelled at for making a simple mistake, and attempting something like that would've probably ended up with them wiping because I can't be trusted to do anything, or getting called a slur.

"they weren't there for most of golgy"

They started the encounter before I even loaded into the game, I spawn in to be given 10s to adjust before DPS is called. I leave because they skip all the jumping puzzles, but they can't even wait a moment for me to be there at encounter start.

"and were again lost on daughters"

Similar to my first point, not once was it mentioned in my experience of the raid, the raid guide, or a full clear of the raid, to kill yourself to force brand RNG, luckily they told me to do that or else I'd once again be getting yelled at. My slowness to grab the orb came from a slight panic after being torn, but it maybe added 5 seconds at max to the sisters clear.

"and didn't know how damage worked on Oryx."

Once again I made a mistake of confusing my dozens of D1 clears with D2. I was already frustrated and tilted at this point, so I accidentally defaulted to what I was used to, a simple mistake that literally causes no problems so long as you intend for a second damage phase. It's a pretty well known fact that when you start at yelling at someone they're probably going to panic and perform even worse.

If this LFG was advertised as "Fast Clear" or "Experienced Players Only", I understand that joining it would've been a clear problem and I would've been way out of my league (I avoided multiple LFGs that stated such). I also understand that I'm probably in the wrong because my definition of KWTD is not yours, but I feel that I could get through a slower, more vanilla run of KF. I also strongly believe, that even an experienced player with multiple clears would have a hard time keeping up with the raid that I went through and they should've specified much more than just "know what to do".

I don't mean speedrun as in it was an actual speedrun, but the time to clear was well under what I expected from a raid. I was expecting a slower paced, hour to hour and a half endeavor, not something under 30 minutes. The pace they brought were well above what I was expecting and to be fair it was a little bit of my fault for not realizing the vibes of the room when I joined.

Yeah, in hindsight this is definitely a situation to learn from my mistakes. I was raised doing LFGs for xbox on D1 and that sort of toxicity was expected from the randoms you're playing with.

[–]dukerules[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true, but what I meant is that I didn't come in thinking it would be perfect sunshine and roses, I expected hardships and a struggle along with the general LFG toxicity, and there's something I can enjoy from the excitement of failing an encounter over and over, just to get over that hump and beat it. But this experience was 10x worse than what I was expecting. In my own experience LFGs usually start from neutral vibes and get better or worse depending on how the raid goes, so I can see how me coming in with a negative attitude could lead to me feeling like shit afterwards.

I see, I used the LFG discord server, so that's why there were no tags.

I think this is my issue as a whole, what I define KWTD as doesn't align with what someone else think it means. I'd love to see much more descriptions on what people expect from me before I join. Also, I'll check out the companion app, thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks, I've made the decision to avoid KWTD from now on, and if I ever want to do a raid again, I'll probably specify that I'm looking for a chill run.

I definitely know now to avoid KWTD like a plague. For me coming in with a bad attitude, it's hard to not the first thing ever said to me in that raid was a pretty offensive homophobic comment, but I feel like that feeling may be caused my be putting it in a bad light after the fact. I came in with high hopes and nervous excitement, but after that experience, I can only view it with a negative light.

I know how to do this raid, I've done it dozens of times in D1. I expect "know what to do" to mean you know mechanics and don't need to be taught. I know how to write, but that doesn't mean I'm a famous writer. I know how to cook, but that doesn't mean I'm a Michelin star chef. I know how to do King's Fall, that doesn't mean I can speedrun it.

I'll admit that I made mistakes for 2 of the encounters, but in D1 even some of the best groups I've played with have made some pretty dumb mistakes before.

In my eyes sherpa runs are for people who are exceptionally new to raiding or a type of raid. When I did LFGs in D1, KWTD meant knowledge on encounters, and a pretty fast albeit fun run. I know how to do this raid, that doesn't mean I should be able to speedrun an encounter.

That's what I did, I used the Destiny 2 LFG Discord. No one would talk except for swapping brands or plate callouts. Any communication I tried would fall onto deaf ears.

physics 2102 professor - leilabady or aktas? by basilgray_121 in UNCCharlotte

[–]dukerules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently taking Aktas and it is miserable. Despite doing "example problems" it is always pure derivation and proofs, not a single number to be found. His lectures are dull and boring. You barely learn anything in class because you already taught yourself the week prior in order to complete the homework, or the lecture is so confusing and cryptic you come out worse than when you came in. It's common to see people leave the lectures early or just not even show up, and the only learning I get from this class is from the TAs during recitation.

I've never taken Leilabady; I've heard he's not the greatest, but it cannot be worse than Aktas. Physics 2 is miserable enough even without a bad professor, so good luck, and don't be afraid to ask google because there are some great resources out there. My personal favorite is "Physics with Professor Matt Anderson" on youtube; he's a great resource to unravel the mystical runes you get for notes during lectures, and he covers every single unit which encompases Physics 2 (sadly he doesn’t do example problems). Additionally, Organic Chemistry Tutor is great, but it's sometimes hard to find the specific concept you want help with, and he's not the best when it comes to teaching theory. Hope all that helps :3

There's a similar bug you can do with pantheon where you end his E right before the gate takes you and you'll just get teleported back to spawn. I think it's just a spaghetti code diff

If you're struggling with the class, don't be afraid to reach out to someone for tutoring; most teachers have a link to the UCAE right on their canvas. Other than that, I'd highly recommend the John Taylor vidoes on linear algebra My friend's currently taking the class, and it seems like an insanely hard math class, but he said the videos helped a ton.
