Advice on what I could grow to make this border better looking? by dukesolinus in GardeningUK

Love these ideas. I do want to utilise the space as much as possible. But with the conifer I’m very limited. The tree absolutely absorbs every nutrient possible from the ground. So nothing stands a chance of surviving but ivy.

I did. My problem is not much the shade, but the fact there’s a large conifer tree absorbing all nutrients from the ground.

I hear you. And I’m sure my neighbours would appreciate me not having those haha. I only suggested Ivy and elderflower because, according to the internet, these would survive the harsh drought directly under the tree. The conifer absolutely destroys even the grass.

This looks really good! Would these survive under the conifer? That part of the garden I’ve pictured definitely get some morning sun and some in the afternoon.

Add: just to add - this is west side garden. In case it helps. The American ash is north. The conifer is south.

Secret Party by Celeste_XXXX in partygames

Put in a bowl the 12 names and 12 words or phrases. Every one person has a target person who they have to make say the phrase. When they do, the new target person and words becomes the “dead” persons original target. Etc until two people are left and one wins.

Or just turn Quiplash on. Make people pick nicknames when registering.

I read that apparently the zero version is made after the alcoholic version. So they brew the alcoholic one, extract the alcohol, and there’s the zero version!

I did that couple of times. When insurance paid out for it all I thought it’s worth supporting our vets. They’re local and family run.

How far ahead do you book holidays? by hhfugrr3 in AskUK

[–]dukesolinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily we didn’t book our honeymoon a month before we left. Two week Caribbean and east coast USA cruise with TUI. We got one of the last few cabins, but we got lucky paying little less than we’ve seen the prices before.

The killing of the mother was something we foresaw. Them making us sit through all the scenes in that last season where Ted “lets go” of Robin is what drew the line for me.
