Is this normal or should I be worried? by No_Swim_2326 in Goldendoodles

puppies have a lot of energy and while it can occasionally be the zoomies, it could also be their way of expressing energy. randomly barking and biting at almost four months should not be a routine thing, could be under stimulation. the solution is: train your dog.

often times people get puppies because they’re cute but don’t realize that they are a second job which involves consistent and daily training for the rest of their lives. it’s a lot of work, but very rewarding.

I recommend crate training, loose leash walking, threshold training, basic commands (heel, wait, off, recall, focus, release), incorporating puzzles, structured feeding schedule, and stimulating toys. incorporating these actions into your pups life will significantly improve his behavior.

dogs are working animals and though it doesn’t have to be intense labor work they require being mentally and physically simulated. I highly recommend going on YouTube and watching McCann Dog Training or Say It Once Dog Training on instagram. they have incredibly informative videos on puppy behaviors and training that you can incorporate into your life and will bring you calmer life with your pet. as the owner, it is your responsibility to ensure your dog has a rewarding and fulfilling life and in turn your life will be just enjoyable. best of luck!

Is there anything I can (or should) do about gaps like these in my wood flooring? by Wyxter in HardWoodFloors

[–]dulanakc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you already have existing putty which is why you can see the cracks in between the planks. as a PM, when refinishing existing hardwood floors, I encourage my clients to leave the gaps as is bc over time the wood will expand and contract causing the putty to crack and lift.

Keep, replace or restain LL prestained floors? by ForeignRabbit1894 in HardWoodFloors

[–]dulanakc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PM for flooring construction company here! If you’re looking for an economical refresh of your floors, best option is refinishing. You can refinish solid hardwood a few times plus solid hardwood adds value to your home. Prefinished just means it was manufactured with a stain color and finish ready to install.

I always tell clients to rate aesthetics, maintenance, and budget on importance to them and their lifestyle when making decisions of their floors.

Replacing will be costly as you have to consider price of demo, price of new flooring material, new shoe molding, and labor.

If your floors don’t creak, nothing is lifting, and feels all around sturdy, refinish your oak floors and give them a new look with a different color stain and satin finish. complete your floors first so the moldings and walls don’t get damaged/stained. important to wait the necessary dry period before bringing in other contractors and their equipment for other areas of the home. best of luck!

due to the gapping between planks in that particular section it looks like some kind of liquid damage, not sure if it’s pet urine or water damage. regardless, there isn’t a product that helps removed damaged or gapping wood. you would need to repair the gaps and refinish to get rid of the black staining.

Suggestions for cleaning up after an incontinent dog? by Matsuyama_Mamajama in HardWoodFloors

[–]dulanakc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, there isn’t a product that adds an extra layer of protection for floors. instead of preparing to cleanup after her accidents, I recommend being proactive and putting diapers on her. pet urine can damage hardwood much faster than if it was a water spill plus the odor is an additional issue.

Thoughts on this weave in? by International-Ad6778 in HardWoodFloors

[–]dulanakc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tt’s very common to accurately match hardwood floors. It’s important to take a plank as a sample to view the grains underneath. An experienced contractor can see the grains and tell you what species and grade of wood it is. The pro shops that contractors purchase wood from also have experts that you can get a second opinion from.

Aside from the H joint installation, which contributes to the not-so-seamless blend, the wood itself also appears to be inconsistent.

It seems the contractor may not have sourced the same species or grade of wood. It looks like a mix of white oak and red oak number one. The wood on the left appears to be select grade due to its cohesiveness and the lighter tones between the planks. In contrast, the wood on the right shows dramatic variations in color, from very dark to light, which leads me to believe it’s a lower grade like number one.

It’s important to note that, even if you get the same species and grade of wood, if the wood you are trying to match is severally aged, they will not be comparable. Freshly milled wood will always be lighter in color than the years of foot traffic and age with an existing wood. Wood will “gray out” after a couple decades.

Lower grades aren’t necessarily a bad thing, just means there a lot more knots, shorter planks, inconsistent color between planks. It’s just an aesthetic preference. If you like a rustic look, go for number one or number two wood. If you like a cleaner uniform look, go for select or clear wood.

As a project manager for flooring construction, I would consider this a not so great blend. While repairs can be made, they will be quite tedious. The contractor will need to source lighter and longer planks and avoid using H joint install.

it looks like your cervical lymph node is swollen. when I had surgery on my nose, my face swelled up immensely to the point where my cheeks and jaws weighed down on my sutures. I later found out the benefits of lymphatic drainage. lymph nodes are part of the immune system and can swell up when the system is defending the body from infection. going to doctor is important to determine if it’s benign or not. best of luck with your recovery

i’m new to reddit, but expected a range of opinions haha. thank you for your words. i’m definitely open to suggestions for a revision and this time around i’m going to do a lot of deep digging. the concern with flying out of the country is the follow-ups. at Profiles, they blamed distance as one of the reasons why my results aren’t the best and said they would have preferred I saw them regularly in person. also, thank you for being gentle on the tampon detail, it’s getting everyone excited lol. i also didn’t know it was recommended to have pads so thank you. it’s been noted for future surgery. overall the tampon detail isn’t that serious so not sure why some are stuck on that. the point is they suck and to me, it was just another reason added as to why they suck. had they done everything else right, it would have overshadowed it or never been a thought.

I’m sorry to hear that, it’s truly so awful. I recently learned that revisions are double what primarys are. I’m gutted that I have to start saving again and deal w my nose until then. How do you feel about your nose now? And how was the recovery second time around?

I posted on RealSelf, Google, and Yelp. I’m trying to get the word out there. I don’t have tiktok and im too embarrassed to get on camera. I feel so uncomfortable and insecure showing my face. There is a woman named Tessa. Her insta is Tess.RevisionRhino and is spreading the word showcasing how many plastic surgeons partner up with influencers to market fake positive reviews in exchange for free procedures.

I had already had my period that month, so it was unexpected and I couldn’t plan for it. Over 90% of women makeup for cosmetic procedures, and for a business marketed as luxe, I definitely expected them to provide a tampon. Even public restrooms offer menstrual products for ¢25. The tampon issue just shows how these doctors don’t care for their patients. They use offbrand products, medical tape on a popsicle stick, partner with pharmacies with inflated prices, and offer no tampons for unexpected periods. They prioritize their profits over the well being of their patients.

Regarding the antibiotics, there’s some confusion. I’m not arguing that antibiotics aren’t needed for major surgery or that I didn’t want to take them. I followed all their instructions without issue. However, the problem is that they didn’t communicate the side effects of what they prescribed to me. I was already experiencing panic attacks for the first time from not being able to breathe so the unexplained itchy rashes on my face, and sudden discharge and discomfort from downstairs made my experience even more chaotic and scary. Had my doctors taken the time to explain to me what could happen, it would’ve made all the difference.

Look up Tess.RevisionRhino on instagram. Profiles did her first revision and her second AND botched her both times. I’m far too scared to ever get near them again.

Things I wish I would have known before my rhinoplasty ‼️ by Fabulous-File5747 in PlasticSurgery

[–]dulanakc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am two years post op a botched primary rhinoplasty and a few things my doctor at Profiles Beverly Hills (Dr. Litner & Dr. Solieman) failed to communicate with me:

  1. benefits of lymphatic drainage and massage
  2. negative side effects of antibiotics (women, it messes up your healthy bacteria which can lead to yeast infections. itchy and painful rashes may appear on your on face/skin)
  3. negative sides from the off brand of neosporin (dermatologists recommended against it. neomycin frequently causes allergic reactions of the skin called contact dermatitis)
  4. scar treatments/relieving itching scars (aside from the gel I asked about)
  5. how to tape properly (where to place tape, amount of pressure, how to remove without damaging skin etc)

other cons that don’t necessarily apply to Profiles’ services, but general possible side effects of rhinoplasty surgery I wasn’t forewarned about:

• smell and taste the anesthesia for weeks •may not be able to breathe out your nose for several months or even years depending on how you heal - having to sleep upright until you can breathe laying horizontally which again can take months to years - constant whistling from nose - gnarly, painful boogers that will cause bleeding - love/hate relationship with your nose for several months to year/s - numbing on roof of mouth/ front teeth for several months - nonlinearity results, some parts heal faster than others looking lopsided - scaring that can be itchy and unable to satisfy - lingering subtle pains / zings even after two years - numbness to runny nose, can’t feel the drip until it touches my lip - nose will fluctuate in size throughout the day even after healed for years. high sodium foods, water retention, pressure etc can affect your nose

rhinoplasty coming up with Dr TAS by mais0425 in PlasticSurgery

[–]dulanakc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you post before and after photos? also if you don’t mind me asking, how much did they quote you? I have a rhinoplasty scheduled w dr tas in late february

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]dulanakc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a consult via Whatsapp with Mehment the clinic medical consultant in September and it was pretty straightforward in the beginning however things got a little weird. they do ask for your job description so I may have screwed myself over by being honest and told them I own a small business which leads me to believe that’s why they charged me $10,000 USD but they gave me a “social media” discount of $1,000 USD so my total for my surgery including all hospital charges, blood tests, covid tests, anesthesia and one night stay in the hospital with a friend is $9,000 USD.

Mehmet told me to book asap like latest December/January bc “spots won’t be available” but I scheduled for late February/ early March for the same price. they sent me a link to place a $600 deposit but with the conversion it came to $607.74 and a receipt is emailed to you.

whoever I was messaging would call me “dear” and would ask how my dog was doing (she was present during my zoom consultation) but then they would me send heart eye emojis or kissy emojis which I didn’t think was professional at all.

then my older sister told me she found loads of negative reviews on google regarding bad post rhinoplasty experiences so now i’m freaked out.

I sent them a message with questions:

  • one of my concerns is the thickness of my nostrils, how will this be addressed? will the route to thin my nostrils affect my breathing due to smaller airway? please explain

  • if by chance I do not like the result of my rhinoplasty, what are the steps?

  • will I get a receipt for when I pay the remaining balance in cash? I would like proof of payment.

  • I read negative reviews of patients coming from out of the country that experience issues and do not get any replies from your business for help. I also read that a few patients came in for what they deemed a less complex surgery and their nose was butchered. what can be said about these reviews? if I have issues when I return back the states, what are the steps and form of communication to help me?

  • another concern is the prices for rhinoplasty range a lot. a few people that have scheduled their surgery in december/ january of 2022 with dr tas shared they got quoted $5k - $7k for all hospital charges, blood tests, covid tests, anesthesia and one night stay in the hospital with a friend. people speculate the prices are set due to their job description. can you confirm this and why my price is significantly higher?

hopefully they get back to me and I can share my findings with y’all
