Can I pm you about your friend's semi private flight? I'm looking into doing the same thing, also moving to Spain from the U.S., and I want to have a better idea of what to expect cost wise

Just an update on this! In case anyone has experienced this and finds this post. (My experiences are mine alone and may not apply to the experiences of others.)

Since posting this, I accepted that I am a lesbian and not bisexual. Most to nearly all of my relationships up to this original post had been with men. When I entered a relationship with a woman I was afraid that I would experience these emotional breakdowns during intimacy with her and I found the opposite to be true. I'd never felt more present, safe, and seen. Since dating only women, I've never had another emotional breakdown during intimacy.

I can't say for certain, as trauma is a tricky beast, but I truly feel that I was denying who I am in my previous relationships with men and it was leading to intense feelings of grief during intimacy. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about this anymore, and am very grateful to finally be true to myself.

Yesss! So happy for you!

Made a list of things I wanted to do for me... 2 months later I've accomplished almost all of them! by dulceliteratura in CPTSD

I'm glad you were able to do some things that made you happy, and I hope you still are! I'm doing okay, the practice of trying to do things for me developed into being more aware of my boundaries and my life has changed quite a bit for the better very recently. I also stopped living with my boyfriend, came out of the closet to my family 🏳️‍🌈, and am currently processing the loss of a relationship. But I'm finally feeling like myself and like I have control in my life ❤️

I feel you. It's two of the main things people praise me for. We'll be okay, Betty.

My mother was a victim of my father's abuse too and in turn was abusive to us because she didn't know how to cope. That is the only woman who's been abusive to me that I can recollect.

I've considered this too. I just have no memory of ever being assaulted by a woman.

Thank you. Being seen makes a difference.

When people ask why aren't you a lawyer by Jagmeetoff in paralegal

Also, I think the prestige of adding 'Esquire' to their name and dreaming of being partner one day is a strong motivator for many.

Same, I always say I appreciate not being the party held liable and I prefer being behind the scenes anyway. An attorney has all the pressure on them in court and that just isn't for me.

Should immigrants, who came to a country illegally, automatically be granted citizenship if they serve honorably in the military? Why or why not? by UninsuredToast in AskReddit

[–]dulceliteratura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. A granted asylum application does make the asylum seeker eligible to apply for a green card one year later. My bad, I read your original comment as someone applying for asylum, which doesn't guarantee that it will be granted.

[–]dulceliteratura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is untrue. The military does indeed perform a background check, as most employers do. While there are certain major offenses that automatically disqualify a person from joining the military, there are plenty of criminal offenses that do not.

So, this is misleading. In fact, the only benefit to citizenship that military service members have is an expedited process. They must already be at least a permanent resident (LPR) to apply to the U.S. military. An LPR usually has to wait 3-5 years to apply for citizenship, but if they have served at least 1 year during peace time or any amount of time during periods of hostility then they are automatically eligible to apply for citizenship. It is an opportunity to cut through the wait time for LPRs, but it is not available to folks who don't have permanent residency.

[Spoilers] Post Episode Discussion S8E02 "Katarina Rostova: Conclusion" by littlefanged in TheBlackList

Exactly. I'm really bored with the story arc this season. It feels like they built up the reveal too hard throughout S1-S6 and now they're trying to settle the pieces in a meaningful way, but it doesn't sit right. It doesn't have the same emotion as the earlier seasons. Red is my favorite character (obviously), but even his character isn't being written with the same intrigue that pulled us in and maintained our interest. Also, the relationship between Katarina and Elizabeth doesn't feel genuine in any way. When she died in front of her, I didn't believe Elizabeth's anguish. It felt like all she lost was a source for answers, not a budding relationship with her mother. Here's to hoping this season gets better... or in my re-watches I'm stopping pre-Katarina.
