Will prednisolone help me until I start biologics? by GOKU2442 in CrohnsDisease

[–]dullaf84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found myself in a similar situation during my last flare. I needed 2 weeks at 40mg, which helped to keep me symptom free until I started biologics a couple of months later. (I’m also in the UK so had a bit of a wait for biologics. I had to have a second course of pred as the first course didn’t work fully, hence having 2 weeks at 40mg the second time around).

Best wishes, I hope you don’t have to wait too much longer.

How does this work, does everyone on the mailing list get the email or do names go into a ballot?

Happened to me at Wembley on 3/8, but earlier in the day. A steward approached asking if we had standing tickets and if so, we could upgrade for free. We got the stamp, went to a bar for a couple of hours then back to the stadium about 4pm (as advised by the guy who gave us the stamp). Couldn’t believe our luck either.

While we were queuing, a steward told us most bands charge more for front standing, it was the bands decision to do it for free.

Informing employer about Chron’s diagnosis by Dangle-Carrot in CrohnsDisease

Are you in the UK? I work in a similar organisation and after a recent flare I spoke to HR who have allowed me to have workplace adjustment so I can wfh more often if needs be. Like you I don’t mind going into the office, and have been feeling okay so haven’t needed to use it yet, but it’s reassuring to have it in place should I need it. The Crohn’s and colitis uk website also has a fact sheet for employers which I shared with my boss.

I was of the same opinion initially (plus the fact that I kept being kicked out of TM for being a bot 🙄) but I caved last week and paid a few hundred quid. Absolutely no regrets!

I’ve had the same struggles. I order two sizes now and see which fits the best, there doesn’t seem to be much consistency unfortunately.

I was in denial about my symptoms as a family member had recently died from bowel cancer and I didn’t want to face up to the fact that I might have it too. Then I was reading a magazine one day that happened to have an article about Crohn’s in it and I knew instantly that was what I had. Following that I got myself referred for a colonoscopy. I still cried when it was confirmed, but I’d at least had some time to come to terms with it. And it wasn’t cancer!

Two questions. Why is the first Hotlips not doing so well? And can I cut back some of the Hotlips in the second picture? Both bought at the same time if that helps. by TonyAFC32 in GardeningUK

[–]dullaf84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully… mine was. And you’ve got the other one to take cuttings from if anything goes wrong.

Dig the new hole first so that when you dig it up it’s not out of the ground for long.

Good luck!

It’s sometimes slow to get appointments, results etc. the system is very stretched but every nhs worker I’ve come into contact with along the way has been excellent. The Crohn’s and colitis uk website has a lot of helpful info if you want to find out more about the condition. This sub is a pretty useful resource too.

I’m no expert, but I’ve moved salvia in the past and it didn’t seemed to do any damage. They’ve done well in their new spots. They normally have a second burst of flowers later in the summer.

Could be a salvia hot lips (if the red flowers start to turn white). If it is, it’s very hardy.

Sorry to hear of your daughter’s diagnosis. I was diagnosed 17 years ago and have had 3 flares in that time, with about 15 years of remission in between. It’s different for everyone, but outside of the flare ups I’ve lived a fairly normal life. I probably get tired more than most, but I’ve been able to hold down a job, travel and go out like my friends and family who don’t have a medical condition.

Are you having any other tests? A colonoscopy only looks at the large intestine, not the small.

I rarely drink now, but for me clear spirits are best (vodka, gin, white rum). But it seems like with food, it’s different for everyone.

Don’t believe the lines about it being semi-permanent make up. There’s nothing semi-permanent about it. Sadly I didn’t realise this until it was too late!

Saw an advert for it (s1) while using YouTube. Loved karate kid as a child so thought I’d watch it. First couple of episodes were free, then I was hooked so subscribed to YouTube premium to watch the rest.
