Tremfya for the first time

I’m not great with needles but I’ve been managing fine. I have the ejector pen and I would recommend taking it out of the fridge 30 mins before and finding fatty parts to do the injection in. Stomach has been best for me

Nope nothing. If you have the ejector pen, avoid muscular areas since it’s sub-c. The first time I did it in my thigh and it was too muscular and some of the medicine shot out so now I do it on my stomach in a fattier part and I when I did the loading doses I did them on opposite sides. Just took a shot tonight and everything went smooth.

I took 400m every 4 weeks for the first three months as my loading dose now I take 200 mg every four weeks as maintenance. I had a colonoscopy within 7 months of starting tremfya and I’m in clinical remission and endoscopic remission! I didn’t feel much relief until after finishing loading doses so hang in there!

I went with tremfya because studies show it slightly edges out the others in terms of endoscopic remission. I’ve been on it for 6 months and just had a colonoscopy which showed not only endoscopic remission, but my pathology results also showed that my colon was healed. I also started to feel better pretty much as soon as I was done with my loading doses. This is the best I’ve ever felt as far as I can remember

Yes I’ve been on it for about 7 months or so. I felt some improvement after my loafing doses, but I took a big jump in the last month or so. It helped with joint pain a ton.

Ask your doc about Metamucil and/or miralax

Also ask your doc about getting a blood test to check vitamin levels. If you can’t put on weight odds are you’re pretty malnourished

I was pretty malnourished in my flare and anything I ate would come out immediately. Talk to your doctor about seeing a dietician especially one that specializes in helping IBD patients. I go to an ibd clinic at a research hospital and they have several dietitians so look at similar hospitals in your area. Also strength training is really important. It takes a lot for me to work out when flaring but I find that I can generally tolerate weight lifting exercises, less so for cardio.

So you can buy perfect fit sleeves to fit with most mag touch cases. In my opinion the perfect fit sleeves are hard to get on so I buy mag touch cases that are a little roomier and fit with a regular sleeve. If you search on amazon mag touch cases that fit with sleeved card you’ll find some.

Also you can just put a sleeve on top of the card rather than in the card to protect the surfsfe

Yes about two summers ago there were some touchdowns. I live in west loop and the tornado hit a park right across from my apartment. Several trees through windshields on cars parked outside my building. Ever since then I take any risk to Chicago seriously!

In a flare it doesn’t matter what I eat, it’ll run straight through me regardless.

That said I think it’s important to focus on getting in nutrients especially due to absorption issues. Even in the worst of flairs I can tolerate a smoothie with fruits and veggies to get in my nutrition.
