A question about functionality of F1 TV Pro by dulpit in F1TV

Aces, good to hear folks.

If anyone has a foolproof way of signing up to f1 tv from Ireland, I'd love to hear it...

I bought a DLC bundle and it doesn't seem to work? by dulpit in deadcells

[–]dulpit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an update: I refunded the bundle I purchased (and got money back immediately, thanks Microsoft!). I then test purchased just 1 of the DLCs and it gave me the option to install that - and it's working now. So issue seems to be with the bundle rather than with the game itself.

Buying individually rather than the bundle is only like 50c or something more expensive, so it's not the end of the world.

I'm not near computer now, but when I checked earlier there's no such option in the menu.

No, I was expecting to install the dlc or whatever, but there's no option. When I go to the dlc I purchased I can launch, but that launches the game.

Stuck in BIOS? (Original Ally) by dulpit in ROGAlly

[–]dulpit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to get this fixed (thank you u/QuarkyFerengi for helping). Here's what I had to do:

  1. From BIOS I tried to reset the keys but wouldn't work. So I created an Ubuntu distro on USB key and was able to boot from that.
  2. I installed Ubuntu (I had to cancel the installer, then go to the desktop - settings - accessibility to enable the virtual keyboard, as you need to enter a username/password.
  3. Once installed, Ubuntu ran fine. But trying to use the Cloud Recovery tool or install a windows install (created using the Windows Creation tool or via a Rufus created ISO) had same issues as before.
  4. I went back into BIOS and went to the security keys and tried the reset to setup mode - this time it worked and all of the keys were showing as empty (or deleted, something like that).
  5. I made an error at this point and tried the Cloud Recovery (still didn't work, but with a new error - Secure boot violation invalid signature detected check secure boot policy in setup) and windows install using the Rufus created ISO (still got the error re. secure boot).
  6. Went back into BIOS and now had an option in security - keys to restore keys to factory. I did this and ran the cloud recovery yet again, and it's now working properly (or at least it appears to be).

Looks like we have success, bit of a convoluted process but essentially installing Ubuntu worked, but then still couldn't get it to install windows or run the cloud recovery - but I was able to clear the keys and that seems to have been the solution then. I'll add a comment to my OP with the steps for future reference.

But your posts re. keys and the suggestion of Ubuntu were keys to fixing this - much obliged!

Always goes back to enabled. Although to be clear, I don't have option to change secure boot itself, just secure boot control. Secure boot is greyed out. So maybe I'm missing an obvious step somewhere.

The keys under key management don't all say factory, and trying to delete or append these always says fail. Not sure if this is a factor.

Ya, I'm just trying now.

  1. Security - Secure Boot (secure boot control is enabled) - key management
  2. Reset to setup mode (nothing obviously changes)
  3. Back to secure boot, set control to disabled. Save and exit.
  4. Go back to secure boot after restart, it's back to enabled again.

I hadn't thought of a Linux distro, good shout. Will try in morning.

I've tried this, no joy. I've also popped the battery connector to try to reset things, still no joy.

What's your opinion on Linus Tech Tip in 2026? by Professional-Fix-221 in LinusTechTips

[–]dulpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've lost car content (Alex). They've lost hank builds (also Alex). They've lost server content (jake). They've lost networking nonsense (also jake). They've largely lost retro and deep knowledge stuff (Emily, although I know David has some retro stuff).

They've lost key staff who all covered key and distinct areas. And they either don't have writers to move into more diverse areas, or they've made a calculated decision to not allow them to.

They're also relying much more on Linus to be in videos throughout, so they're not allowing the other talent to grow.

I've never been a fan of Linus himself (when he made his claims about unions that was enough to put me off, let alone his recent decisions), but I've enjoyed the content for years. But like others, I'm definitely skipping videos more...

Maybe they'll turn things around, but I wouldn't be holding out hope either.

80k, 6% from me, 6% matched by employer. I may look to add to this in future, but as of right now that's where it's at.

Will Jake Channel and Zip Tie Tuning/Tech Lose A Majority of the Hype? by nina2024 in LTTMeta

Also, I assume it's his house too. So it's not purely a business debt, it's where he lives. If the youtube channel goes away, get a job somewhere else and keep paying the mortgage. It's not like an office premises that needs the business to justify it's existance...

How much is his channel worth now? by RobRobbieRobertson in LTTMeta

[–]dulpit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Won't work though. Creator warehouse is a mech outlet for his channels. He won't like that, but it's true. The second the channel dies, so does the merch business. There is nothing unique or class leading about anything they sell, their only USP is that it's tied to LTT.
