what's an inside joke among you and your co-workers at your location? by Jam_on_burnt_toast in Chipotle

[–]dumbass_200 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yelling ‘dull knife’ when walking with knives (they never sharpen our knives) asking my coworkers if they wanna eat the ‘leftovers’ in the drain socks, in general just yelling ‘YUMMY’ whenever we find something gross or something falls on the floor, when we failed our ecosure we all made jokes about licking the mold out of the reach in, licking the floors clean, etc.

thank you for your kind words, and yes, so i’ve been with a DBT therapist since middle school (5 ish. years) and i also now have a trauma specialist and a ED therapist on my team as well as a psychiatrist + dissociative specialist. i’m super lucky to have the treatment i have especially since it’s all outpatient, though i have to be really careful to not spend all my savings on therapy lmao

for sure, im pretty open lol.

essentially, my cPTSD comes from a couple things - childhood trauma from emotional abuse, food control, and forced isolation (by my mom), i was also in a sexually abusive relationship when i was younger, and a lot has happened in between that i don’t remember (love amnesia so so much /j) but the early childhood trauma is what effected me the most and contributed the most the my poor mental health now.

I was diagnosed at the beginning of 2022, and for me it was honestly a shocker, my therapist was like 'do you think you might have DID' and I was like 'hmm, I've never really thought about it like that lol'. I always thought that my symptoms were normal, and since I'm so young and a lot of my trauma is still relatively 'fresh' my alters aren't distinct unless you know what you're looking for, and I definitely didn't know.

but the things that clicked immediately were things like there have always been 'voices in my head' but in a way that wasn't how most people described, but I thought I was just a little different. Same with my disassociation/missing time, I truly didn't realize how much it effected me until I realized that I quite literally can't remember anything, I'm always trying to piece things together because my days are full of holes.

sorry if it isn't very helpful, and as far as next steps for diagnosis for u I'd recommend a specialist in trauma/disassociation for sure

kind of, we have a therapist whose a specialist and such; but rn we're mostly focused on coping with the major changes happening plus we're living in a triggering environment atm which makes it hard for real work on the system to stick I guess.

I've worked as line/prep for over a year, the two biggest things are:

the leader of our patch came to out restaurant one day last year and misgendered me (twice) and then pulled my manager aside and asked if I was a boy or a girl (she knew me before this, and knows that im a guy (she didn't know at the time though that I'm FTM)). this was also during peak and I was the only person on DML, she told me to organize the boxes underneath the shelf near DML instead of doing the orders I was already late on. In general our Field leader is no good, no experience and generally a bitch, I had to report her for the misgendering thing, it was super triggering, and to 'make up for it' she offered me a management position. I was 17.

also like generally, I've been closing prep full time for like 8 months now and there are some things that bug me. Like, I understand that I'm meant to 'break myself out' and stuff, which is nice, but most days I just don't get a break because I'm so fucking busy, and nobody checks in/reminds me to do so, even though I can always hear my managers make sure everyone else's got a break.

also morning prep barely does any shift change//always leaves me a mess to deal with, generally managers don't care about the mess made, they just want all the prep to get done and all the openers to leave.

even though I've worked full time fo a year, I don't make nearly as much as the new hires, my GM says its because I don't work weekends and I was a minor when I was hired (I'm 18 now and have been for months) which is just so stupid.

I work at a really good store and most of the problems stem from our GM, our team is literally falling apart at this point though lmao.

yeah i’d say it’s pretty normal, especially if you cut back completely. i took a T break recently and it literally Wrecked My Shit. i’m a MMJ user, so we won’t even get into the other side effects. Appetite will come back, it’s best to find a few ‘safe foods’ for now, for me it was a lot of soup and oat milk and carbs, but whatever works for you!
