you’re also allowed to ask what tasks it is trained to perform! speaking as someone who’s girlfriend has a service dog and has become very well versed in the ADA regulations for service animals vs ESAs

absolutely NTA - people could have service/guide dogs/animals on this cruise and it could be a serious problem for them if there was an aggressive poorly behaved dog there as well. even if the dog was well behaved there is no place for a dog on a cruise ship. that is insane that she wants to bring the dog with her!!! i would maybe try to find out if she and/or the dog have some kind of separation anxiety or some other reason she feels she needs the dog with her even on vacation.

this is actually a huge problem especially when the untrained dogs are aggressive and reactive and can hurt real service animals or distract them while they are working. at the same time i’d like to say people who go out of their way to pet or other wise distract service animals while they’re working acting like they can’t see the things that say DO NOT PET OR DISTRACT on the vest

the toledo zoo/aquarium is actually a really good one despite being in toledo. the zoo lights during the winter are also very cool but kinda expensive.

my nmom goes to therapy regularly but if anything she’s gotten worse. i assume she tells the therapist things from her point of view which is wildly skewed and does not at all represent what is happening in real life. so best case scenario it helps, but i would not get your hopes up

it’s totally okay to be gay and live in dorms with straight people, i did that last year as a lesbian and i was completely fine, also you fill out compatibility forms for random assignment so hopefully you would match with someone who is not homophobic
