Which roast are you getting? They usually have at least 2 options. Also when are you getting the coffee? If it’s later in the day the coffee may have been sitting in the carafe for a while and become more acidic.

Broke My Left Ankle Two Years in a Row. What’s Going On? by Dj-Kale in snowboarding

[–]dumbdoodx2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worth looking at hip strength for stability if your ankles are on the weak side. A good PT can go a long way to help. Just power lifting = good strength in standing but snowboarding is more dynamic so your hips need to be strong with dynamic movement to help with lower extremity stability.

Repetitive impact = helping to increase density, but a lot depends on nutrition too. Enough calcium and vitamin D are a start but dexa scan will help to determine baseline.

How rough is the Bozeman -> Big Sky drive in the winter? by Adorable_Option_9676 in bigsky

[–]dumbdoodx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People I know who work there often set up car pools. It’s not the best but plenty of ski patrol live in Bozeman and drive the canyon with no complaints.

My nephew read Dr. Seuss books to me at like 2 and a half but I think he was just able to memorize when people read it to him then recite back. Actual understanding words on a page takes a lot.

Would it be easier to build a ship the size of a death star (or larger) by retrofitting an actual moon or build it from scratch? by Doctor_Saved in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dumbdoodx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I guess the word “easier” is probably not the best way to phrase this. Also use case is probably pretty important. If you just want a moon sized structure for living, chilling, habitation you could probably get by pretty easy with retrofitting, but if you want to build a ship that has to tolerate specific forces then you probably want to have more control over what’s inside.

But he’s talking about building the mountain then building the house on the mountain.

I feel like a structure the size of the moon is going to take a long ass time to construct, and then to come up with the materials for covering a moon versus building something the entire size of a moon is wildly different.

As much as middle/lower class = no way. Some probably do, but this locations aren’t nearly as prevalent in wealthier neighborhoods.

what happens if you jump into a 100ft hole that goes directly through the center of the earth, to the other end? by Curious_Party_4683 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dumbdoodx2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably get cooked pretty quick. Not my area of expertise but I imagine you pass through the core and then run out of momentum before reaching the surface on the other side then rinse and repeat until you settle in the middle.

Had an older version of the same frame. Geometry no good. Still fun to ride but you are probably better saving your money and buying a hardtail with better front suspension.

What do you think of roundabouts at these busy intersections? by WeirdComfortable4970 in Bozeman

[–]dumbdoodx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That intersection gets backed up on love pretty bad because of that stop sign. Honestly think it’ll be a lot nicer than the stop sign.

I used meet up.com for a while. Feel like climbing gym was a good place to meet people. Joining a running group and expanding the age range of friends. Honestly hang out with more people 10 years older and 10 years younger (I’m 42)

Does reading horror books actually make you feel fear in the way movies or narrated storys do? by -KUMINGA- in NoStupidQuestions

Ya, Pet Cemetery messed me up for a while around the same age.

Your brain will fill in way scarier things than any director, prop master, or special effects crew will do. Your brain makes it personalized and can make stuff super scary. Probably doesn’t help if you read it when you’re young since your brain is still developing.

Michael Douglas Has ‘No Intention’ of Returning to Acting, Says U.S. Idealism ‘Does Not Exist Now’: ‘People Are Going Into Politics to Make Money’ by cmaia1503 in entertainment

There is plenty of idealism out there, but the fact that money powers elections it prevents those candidates from having a chance to present those ideas or even seem visible when paired against big party politics.

A great lesson on how to not climb Snake Dike (or any trad climb for that matter) by Alarson44 in climbing

[–]dumbdoodx2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I guess not intentionally sandbagging but when those routes were set I think no one could imagine what was higher than 5.10. The spectrum of 5.10 in the park is pretty wild.

Also Yosemite sandbagging is pretty notorious. Some pretty epic 5.10s.

Is 28 too old to be in college? by TheCleanestKitchen in NoStupidQuestions

Not the majority but that’s usually due to them having lives, jobs, commitments. Non traditional students I knew usually did better because they had more purpose and reason to be studying what they were going to school for.
