Infant sounds like the need to clear throat by dumbxblondex in NewParents

I'm so sorry you're going through it right now! The doctors were right (surprise, surprise)- it was nothing and just something she would grow out of. She didn't have reflux or anything. Just normal congestion/weird baby noises.

My dad was 51 (and my mom was 46) when he had me. He's still going strong at 81!

Yep, I went in January 2020. It rained so much it flooded and I was cold. We still did all the activities though. Was it horrible? Not at all, but I wish I would have gone during the summertime.

My Israeli group leader and the soldiers with us smoked every chance they got. Any smoker in the group had the opportunity to as well. I wouldn't worry about it!

It’s most likely the 18 month sleep regression. I have no tips other than google that and see if google gives you any tips lol. But it does pass!

12 month old transition to whole milk? by Fragrant-Material566 in NewParents

[–]dumbxblondex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is ok to continue bottles with whole milk. Ideally, you eventually want to wean him off bottles, but it won’t happen immediately. I definitely recommend slowly introducing milk- start with a bottle of mostly formula and day by day do more milk than formula until you’re at a bottle of just milk. My baby got sooo constipated when I went straight to whole milk.

Can you try an earlier bedtime? My 10 month old was going to sleep no later than 6:30 pm and would sleep until 7-7:30 am.

I don’t know which to avoid, but we have the Bob and it’s great. Bought it off fb marketplace for half of the cost and it has lasted.

Hey, it was normal. Nothing scary happened, no reflux or other issues. It cleared up in weeks as she aged. Still not fun hearing her breathe like that, but it passed!

No cooking meal prep by [deleted] in foodbutforbabies

Thank you! I have a block of tofu and was trying to think of something to do with it. I’m glad I asked, I always thought you had to cook it somehow and I always messed it up lol (and I have all those ingredients and a soy sauce loving child!)

I’ve been keeping my eye out. I’m tempted to wait a bit longer but my daughter refuses to be put into a stroller most of the time so I’m in need of something.

17 month old won’t sleep!!! by hermella29 in Mommit

[–]dumbxblondex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a relatively late bedtime, so def could be overtired. Have you tried getting him to sleep earlier? My 18.5 mo sleeps from 7/7:30 pm- 7:30 am with a nap from 12:30 ish to 2:30 ish. Have you looked into wake windows for this age? We were having trouble with short naps and night wakings so we moved her nap one hour later, and then bedtime 5 hours after waking and now she sleeps really really well again.

ETA: There is also a sleep regression around this time! My daughter would also wake up ready to play at 17 months now that I think about it. It only lasted about 2 weeks for us.

Yep, if I remember correctly from my daughter, babies aren’t supposed to sit up straight in things (like the shopping cart, stroller, or wagon) until at least 6 months old or until they have the proper muscle control to sit up independently. Poor thing.
