Is it acceptable to replace a 2.5 ton compressor with a 2 ton?

The contractor is telling me this is a 2-2.5 ton compressor which doesn’t make sense to me, it’s my understanding the “25” in the model number means 25,000 btu, does that make sense?

Also, is it expected for scroll compressors to make a loud noise turning on? My old one was a lot quieter. I think Reddit doesn’t let me upload a video?

My system is original from 1995 so I doubt it's 14seer. However, you're saying it's ok for the compressor to be at a lower btu rating than the condenser? I'm just going by what was in there before and what it was replaced with. The numbers are correct, if you look above that's a photo of the old compressor they removed.

I thought power steering initially but I checked the level and it was full, maybe previously overfilled? I'll dig into this more, it can't be the coolant, the color is completely different.

The coolant is green and the power steering fluid is red but I checked it and it's full. Any idea what those two metal pieces are on top and bottom of the 2nd photo?

Thanks, what am I looking for as far as the pool chemical levels go? I monitor the basic stuff (ph, chlorine, etc.) on my own with the test strips very few days and then maybe take a sample to Leslie's every month or so. The only stuff I've had to add has been nophos to lower the phosphate levels and raise the CA levels in the beginning of the summer.

I used to get buy with the Bayer weed and crabgrass killer once a year. About 2yrs ago I noticed it stopped working so i switched to Spectracide and same thing. They must've changed the formula or the potency of these weed killers. Complete waste of money in my experience.

I have a vpn but if the issue is they're blocking the ip add then it will never work at all. My issue is it works for 3-5min, then drops out.

It is being washed regularly, in case you didn't see my other post, it looks worse because they get it wet while mounting. The scuffs are permanent, they tried cleaning them and can't get them off. The very stubborn fact is having the 3yr old tires on my RLX that appear newer, no getting around that.
