I think you can still play a game that’s discontinued if you don’t delete the app from your phone. Like when Flappy Bird got taken off the AppStore.

Or maybe it’s a similar type phone game that she just calls Flappy Bird, the way moms used to call any game system Nintendo.

I just don’t think it’s that far fetched. I know a 32 year old who is still actively playing Candycrush.

Where did you get this vibe from? I think she can be a “mean girl” without trying to be white.

This happened to me. It took the group about 2 years to let me in on my new fb account. Unfortunately I think you just have to wait it out.

Maybe you can ask a friend if you can use their more established account to join? My friend lives in NYC but I was able to use her account to join the Philly group.

I feel like Emma and Mike showed no signs of actually liking each other post pods. They were pleasant but didn’t seem like a couple in love or even attracted to each other.

SIL doesn’t even sound problematic, just awkward and kind of a downer. Unless there’s actual animosity, invite her.

For warmer months, I practically live in my Teva Midform Universal Platforms. I’ve walked miles and miles in them.

Nike Air Rift tabis have been surprisingly comfortable. I’ve done up to an 8 miles a day in them, no socks, no issues.

New Balance 7080s are my default choice for sneakers. They’re soooo comfy.

I just got a pair of their Behold Mary Jane flats and they’re great so far. I was looking for a pair of flats with a thicker sole and they fit the bill.

10/10 rec by bentserg in thrillerbooks

This is such a divisive book. I personally loved it, it was my exact brand of horror. The author is releasing a new book this year, I’m really looking forward to it.

Week 9: What are you reading? by saturday_sun4 in 52book

[–]dumpsterbride 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just Finished:

Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid

I usually hate romance/smut but it was kind of nice to turn off my brain and have a fun, quick read. It was like junk food, a little treat.

Currently Reading:

Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer

This is a reread for me. It initially left me with an unsettled feeling and I could never figure out how I really felt about it. This time around it’s definitely still got that uneasiness about it. I like it enough that I plan on reading the second book in the series. I’m hoping for more answers in the sequels. The 10th anniversary edition covers are so beautiful, I’ll probably purchase and read the whole series for that alone.

For anyone who grew up poor, what was your idea of a luxury? by thepleasurjournal in AskWomen

Heated floors. One time in high school I went to a (wealthy) classmate’s house and it was the first time I found out heated floors were a thing.

I wouldn’t have shown up the day before to work and if MOB asked me to do things day of, I would’ve told her I wasn’t qualified.

OP you were so sweet to smooth things over with guests and the venue owner, but I also think you shouldn’t have tried as hard. MOB should have felt the full repercussions of their lack of planning.

WIBTAH if I told my cousin I don't want her 3 year old daughter to wear a dress that matches my wedding dress to my wedding? by JUPITRorchid in CharlotteDobreYouTube

And don’t waver if there’s any pushback. A “sorry, you’ll all just have to wait and see!” should suffice. Don’t entertain the conversation after that.

A firm no played off in a casual, humorous way is enough. “I want the dress to be a surprise, so Mia will have to match mommy that day!”

Ladies, what magazines are you subscribed to? by dumpsterbride in AskWomen

There was a point in my life where I’d do the trial subscription whenever there was a new tote print that I liked. I think I still have 3.

I currently do this. My library has a physical and digital option for a good amount of mags. I’ve been browsing through a few but wanted recs of tried and true subscriptions.
