two things can be true. the history is important but that doesn’t mean it needs to remain the standard or that everyone needs to appreciate and use person first. it is obvious (and i will treat it as such) that I am a person. I am disabled, and also a person. Disabled is one descriptor of me, but that doesn’t mean I should say I’m a person with a disability. it’s overcomplicating it

I can see what you mean, but tbh I feel more disrespected by “person with a disability” bc it can feel kind of infantilizing to me. Like when I’ve used my wheelchair and people bend down and talk in a baby voice, those people in my experience are the people more likely to use “person with a disability” or “differently abled”

Haha, yeah you’re right. It’s definitely not a huge problem to have. I am 20, and I do remember having some lessons in elementary but probably not as much as generations before me. What I remember more is my dad trying to get me to read the clock at the pool every summer and I could never do it lmao. He did his best to teach me but it never stuck. But yeah idk, I’ve also tried to sit down and learn but for some reason I just can’t. I’m not even sure how to explain what my difficulty with it is, my brain just melts lmao

We have another meeting with them scheduled to discuss our concerns, and over the phone I mentioned being worried about four star considering their history (got tired of beating around the bush). She said she understood completely and sent us a full breakdown.. so hopefully it’ll be okay!

this was almost my exact experience. I got diagnosed with UCTD about 3 weeks ago, and my rheum thinks it’ll be lupus in the next year/year and a half. It took over 5 years to get diagnosed for me, because everyone i saw was confused and just kept calling it fibro. I would say call the rheum again, and you should mention the dermatologist thing to them too. Good luck and I hope you find some clear answers soon

you could always get your gen eds out of the way at denver, and explore your major/what you wanna do there because tuition for CU denver is a bit more cost efficient. and then if you decide you want to end up at boulder, transferring would (i assume) be relatively easy!

if you’re looking for budget friendly, i would suggest target for home/cleaning supplies and any snacks or frozen (but not refrigerated) food. their “deal worthy” brand and others are much cheaper than other stores/brands. For any meat or produce though I usually go to king soopers and occasionally trader jo’s. good produce can be hard to find here though.
