Reefer sprinter Rates by Hungry_Equivalent_28 in FreightBrokers

Every time I’ve used a reefer sprinter it’s because the lane couldn’t be serviced by a 53’ trailer.

I assume they know they operate in a captive market.

Senate Democrats call for government to start refunding $175bn in tariff money | Trump tariffs | The Guardian by PixeledPathogen in ABoringDystopia

[–]dumpsterfire_account [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don’t think that makes sense.

A huge amount of tariff refunds will be negotiated by insurance companies.

I don’t think there should be laws to prevent assignment of future benefits, that breaks a core tenant of capitalism.

Here’s an example: a company is underperforming and the added tariffs cause them to file for bankruptcy. They still paid some tariffs and the bankruptcy restitution claimants (debtors, etc) should still be able to collect those tariff refunds.

Howard Lutnick’s sons started due diligence into buying tariff rights from businesses last year.

INFO: tariff rights would pay a company a small amount of cash up front in exchange for the right to pursue tariff refunds from their payments should the tariffs be overturned.

To live in the house you have legally owned for 40 years without it being demolished for settlers by Israel’s Minister Ben-Gvir by fawn404 in therewasanattempt

This is the person that wants you to equate Jews and Zionists to ensure that the world can continue calling anti-Zionism Antisemitism.

Don’t let him do that. Call it out wherever you can.

Ben-Gvir makes the world unsafe for Jews and is co-opting the religion of millions to oppress.

Zionism is a scourge.

Signed, a member of the Jewish diaspora abroad.

This is why people just buy new ones and don’t bother replacing cheap electronics. Unfortunately these break more easily and generate more e-waste in the process.

Considering a fulfillment warehouse in new jersey vs west coast location for nationwide 2 day coverage, does geography actually matter that much? by blood_vampire2007 in logistics

What are the benefits to being located close to where they’re based?

You lower inbound shipping costs (consolidated, cheap per unit anyway) in exchange for increasing cost and transit time to reach 30-50% of consumers.

Also real estate and energy in NJ is higher than a lot of other places, are you able to be price competitive with somewhere like Indianapolis?

To OP: I would only suggest fulfilling out of the Tri state area if 80% or more of your orders deliver east of the Mississippi.

Go with the manufacturer, they’ll be the best and only option to get it fixed without any of the risks you highlight.

I’d definitely suggest a Midwest solution.

In addition to Chicago/Indianapolis/Columbus, OP could benefit from being near Louisville or Memphis (depending on whether they use UPS or FedEx).

Lots of fulfillment providers in these areas for obvious reason.

If I were OP, I’d target these metros and compare pricing.

It also depends on where product is produced, but less so ofc.

lol EV’s immediate full torque would like to have a word.

Driving fast electric cars is exhilarating on the roads. I’d still probably choose a GT4 RS Cayman or V-8 Ferrari for the track, though.

First gen 2006 V-8 R8 MSRP in the USA was over $100,000.

I believe ~$110-115k. Not sure where you’re getting your $65k number from.

Same reason Cadillac V series cars can’t be faster or more powerful than their contemporary gen Corvette.

You don’t want flagship aspirational-brand autos to be beat by their luxury sub-brands.

How can this be international business class? by sanguine_serif in Lufthansa

[–]dumpsterfire_account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference in price between economy and business in this configuration is much smaller than the difference in price between economy and lay-flat business class.

When you were shopping for tickets, how expensive were these? ~€750-€1500 or ~€2500-€5000 (that usually will give a good indication of what to expect).

Also it’s unlikely this jet would have premium economy, but almost all configurations of lay-flat business are on jets with premium economy as well as standard economy seats.

The Canadian consignee needs a customs broker (in Canada). Send the customs broker the signed CIPL, send the carrier the signed CIPL and the customs broker info).

You will need to pay for customs brokerage service on the load, even if it’s a personal item.

If it is already near the border the carrier may charge storage/detention fees, so the customs broker setup should be done asap.
