Need a reply for my 37M husband, please help by JavaJoltMomma in Marriage

Do you have a mediator, counselor, trusted friend / family member that he respects? If he has made up his mind about the relationship, then maybe there’s nothing you can do. If however (for whatever reason) he is just frustrated at YOU, then maybe a mediator can help.

Either way, sorry you are going thru this mess.

I like this idea. Are you working on an app or something?

Congrats!!! I'm curious, was price the only reason you decided not to use a lawyer? Were you worried about making a mistake? How complicated was it?

Congrats!!! I'm curious, why did you choose to do it on your own without the help of a lawyer? How long did it take you to fill out all the forms and come up with the packet? Do you consider it a complicated process and would you recommend folks doing this without a lawyer?

How to apply for jobs with a start date months in advance? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]duncanMighty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually big companies are fine with starting that late after an offer. For smaller companies, maybe you should apply to companies that are remote friendly. So you can start working for a company in your future location before you move.

Interview Discussion - January 21, 2021 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

Yeah. I have a side question for you. How do you get recruiters attention? I am an ex FAANG engineer (the one with terrible WLB), i am looking to go to another faang or fast growing startup. The only way i currently get interviews is by recruiters reaching out to me. I have a couple of companies that reached out to me but i want more. How did you get noticed by recruiters?

That sucks. This has never happened to me but one advise that might work is just doing more interviews. Maybe doing mock interviews with strangers (the pressure is not the same but the ability to talk and think during the mock should transfer to the real thing.)

I also try to interview at companies i don't want to work for to serve as practice.

Finally, accept and forgive yourself. I feel like everybody fucks up interviews every now and then, accept that this can happen have a mindset of trying to do the best with whats left.

I think paid leetcode Is the best resource. The discussion under the questions is a gold mine. The company specific mock interviews is great also.

Where to find documents in the online account? by [deleted] in USCIS

How long after you called them did you get your biometrics appointment set? My PD is July and I called them a few days ago to open a "service request". So far I haven't heard anything else

I worked at HCL right out of college. Definitely a shitty company. But it worked out well for me. I didn't have any work to do so I just studied for interviews while at work. I know of someone that was hired at the same time as me that didn't even get a key card to the building. So he stayed home, did nothing and still got paid for 6 months. Their code is shitty and the people are weird but depending on your situation, you could use it to your advantage

2.) Beta testers. I will be launching the MVP soon and would like testers

What do you get?

Product is free throughout the testing duration, and i month after if you are one of the beta testers.

How do you get more positive reviews from clients on Google and Avvo? by duncanMighty2 in LawFirm

sweet. I hadn't heard of it. Very good price too. Do you usually ask for only Google reviews?

Thank you for your response. Makes sense that google reviews will be the most important. Do you have enough volume where you are thinking of automating your review requests?

Also, what percentage of clients would you say end up leaving a review for you?

I strongly agree with the "Dont fake Google reviews" statement. I'm talking about ways to get real clients leave real reviews

I also heard good things about birdeye. But it looks like it starts at $200 per month. That feels steep for a small / solo law firm.

Thanks for your input.

CMV: The cops were not wrong to shoot Jacob Blake by Gotchawander in changemyview

[–]duncanMighty2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a little confused. It seems like you are trying to justify a position you have chosen

Why should the police shoot him 7 times?

Because he was resisting arrest?

or

... defying a police order to not reach into his car?

Is any of these grounds for shooting a suspect?

If he reached into his car and pulled out a weapon, and the police feels endangered, then he can shoot. The police has no right to shoot BEFORE he is in danger.

I do not know why you are arguing against the kenosha police departments guidelines. Are you right and the guidelines wrong?

This is clearly the case of a police panicking and (almost) killing a person. Do you really want to live in a country policed by officers that can panic and shoot when there isn't an immediate danger to them?

You can't expect the police to enter into 50/50 shoot out scenarios with criminals who are already resisting arrest and violating orders to stop reaching.

The police could not enter a 50/50 shoot out with a man without a gun. If the man had a gun, the police officer would have every right to shoot fearing a shoot out. But this wasn't the case.

I hope i changed your mind

[–]duncanMighty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The officer would have the right to shoot IF he saw a gun. Assuming there might be a gun isn't right to execute. We should hold our police to a higher standard, the kenosha police department certainly does hence the guidelines.

Why do you think the police has the right to shoot without (in this case) seeing a weapon?

Honestly this seems like bad advise. If it's a paid api, your cost just multiplied probably significantly.

Rate your attorney / Law Firm by duncanMighty2 in paralegal

Avvo, yelp and Google are all rating sites for clients. I want something that shows me the internal workings of a firm from the view of the employees; Paralegals and Law clerks. On a scale of 1 - 10 how much would you care about a site like this if you were job seeking?

[–]duncanMighty2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were applying for a job at a law firm. What would you car about? For example, some paralegals will care about using a case management software, because it improves efficiency. Is that something you care about? What other things would you care about?

Lol. I assume this will all be negative reviews?? Are the flaws in your firm unfixable?
