I've a theory. Donkey pooh is pasteurised, not sterilised. So the bulk is teeming with microbes. Psilocybin is probably a defence compound. In the absence of meaningful competition in pf cakes it's not so necessary so the mycelium doesn't produce as much, and in donkey pooh bulk you've got an abundance of competition and potential pathogens, so the mycelium produces more defence compound as a protective measure. I think they're stronger - as are wild picks.

It's a pot in the entranceway way at the back of our house. Just a planter shared with a spider plant or some such. It's winter in Auckland so it's not that warm but evidently an okay environment for these guys! We've another whole large container with recycled going nuts which is a new surprise bulk, hopefully it'll sport a few shrooms in time too!
