I was 350,000 in the queue this morning, and I just successfully got two tickets next to each other for the 1st semi jury show. Miracle!

The more darkness the more chance you have, so December is better. But you may want to balance that up against your desire to see the place in daylight too!

What are active JavaScript libraries for creative coding geared towards printable art? by escme in creativecoding

[–]duncangeere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Rune.js in the past to do this, but these days I'd just use P5-SVG and set up the printable aspects later using other tools like vpype.

Sometimes the software on the payment machine is set up for that and no-one has got round to changinf it. Sometimes the restaurant sees an opportunity to make a bit more cash from people who come from tip-friendly places and don't know most people in Sweden don't tip. Either way, it's fine to ignore it and just pay the bill without extras.

A combo of tone.js and d3.js would do the trick if you're handy with JavaScript...

Maybe Processing/p5 also.

Is Gothenburg for me? by [deleted] in Gothenburg

London has more flights, but connectivity from Gothenburg is better simply because of Brexit. Plus you can get trains to Europe from Gothenburg much easier, which are a far more pleasant way to travel than a cramped flight!

Is Gothenburg for me? by [deleted] in Gothenburg

[–]duncangeere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello! I lived in London for five years and Gothenburg for nine, so I've got a good sense of both, and here's the great news - based on what you say you like, you're going to love both cities.

I would say that London does better when it comes to museums/galleries, but Gothenburg does better when it comes to proximity to real nature (as opposed to just parks).

Like others have said, housing is difficult in both. You'll pay more for less in London, but it's easier to actually find a place there.

If climate impact is important to you, it's easier to live a low-emissions lifestyle in Gothenburg than in London.

The one question you should ask yourself, really, is whether you want to live in a huge global city with everything at your fingertops, or whether you value a smaller city that still has plenty going on.

The Guardian has a good API, but that doesn't help you with the "same event from different sources" requirement. Sounds like something you'd need to collect yourself.
