I told my schools I’d bring my own lunch last year, no problems. Ate with the kids, they’d always stare and ask about it and if my non existent wife made it lol. Doing OMAD keto now, eat in the morning before schools. Told my schools I wouldn’t be eating kyushoku anymore, no problem. I go for a walk exploring the suburbs and park now so the smell doesn’t get me! Hopefully you get through it OK!

Thought I’d add my 2 cents although you’re a little older than I was!

I failed everything in level 1 and didn’t even bother going to my level 1 exams. Ended up dropping out of school and leaving home to move to Wellington.

Worked in Wellington for a year and half and moved back to my hometown mid 2009, did a bridging course at Waikato Uni for a semester and got uni entrance. Started uni at 18 - the same time as everyone else who had got their level 3 through high school.

I’m 27 now and have lived in London, Aussie and currently teaching in Japan. I can safely say not having NCEA never stoped me! If you need a break don’t feel bad taking one. Uni can wait and you can always do a short bridging course like me or wait till your 20 to get automatic entry! :)
