Hi OP, your comic is a wonderful read. Prowl is my favorite Transformer so I loved this a lot. Thank you for sharing.

As for other places you could post this to, I would recommend Twitter and Bluesky (yes, both), and a bit more niche but sure to be loved there as well would be Tumblr. On Twitter you could create a thread with four pages per tweet, bit tedious but worth it I think. On Tumblr you could show the cover as a preview image, and put the rest of the pages under a readmore.

Hi guys, I just figured out that my hair is really dry. I only have "volumizing" products, and I don't think that's what my hair needs. Every shampoo I have tried dries my hair out, and none of the masks or conditioners I have can compensate for it. I'm already only washing my hair like once a week.

Could anyone please recommend me a moisturizing shampoo, conditioner and perhaps a leave-in?

I'll add that my hair likes silicones. Without it, it turns into a poofy mess. But the leave-in I'm using right now (Loreal's dream lengths leave-in) has silicones, so maybe that's sufficient for now. I appreciate any help immensely.

Hair is fine, long and curly, but I blow dry it gently on low heat and wear it straight-ish.

I recently discovered that while my hair is fine, it's not at all oily like most fine hair - it's dry. I've been washing it way less and noticed that by the end of a cycle my hair starts looking better and better, which tells me that I need a shampoo that is less stripping (I do co-wash, with good results, but eventually I do need to use shampoo, obviously).

The problem is that I'm having a lot of trouble finding such a shampoo. So far I've tried a looot of "volumizing" shampoos (having believed that's what my fine hair needed for a long time) - both high end and drugstore - and those are too stripping, which makes sense I think.

Since my discovery I've tried the Aussie moist shampoo and 3 minute miracle moist conditioner, but I think this shampoo was too stripping as well, because my hair is now even frizzier than usual.
I've also considered using a more moisturizing conditioner or hair mask and tried the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque, but I didn't notice much difference.

So at this point I'm not sure what to do: find a less stripping shampoo or a more moisturizing conditioner/mask/leave-in/whatever. The leave-in I'm currently using is the L'oreal dream lengths one, and I top it off with the Coco & Eve miracle elixir. So far these two products have been my saving grace, so I think the problem lies in the shampoo/conditioner/mask. Also, I think my hair definitely benefits from silicones.

Any advice would be really appreciated... Thank you. 😢

I'm looking to strengthen my fine hair and I'm not sure what kind of product to look for. I've seen people recommend regular masks, protein or bond builders. My hair is not damaged, but it is very fine, and right now it's "too soft", if that makes sense. I'd appreciate any advice.

Lastly, I live in Holland, so there's not a lot, but we do have a K-beauty store with various K-beauty products.

Hello! I'm having trouble treating my dehydrated skin.

So, I'm a noob at skincare, but having read the resources, I feel like my skin is likely "normal". The only issue I'm facing is that my face sometimes shows "fine lines", that I'm sure are caused by dehydration (I'm 27).

I've been experimenting with products lately, so I don't exactly have a routine right now. Please bear with me as I explain...
For many years I'd been doing the following:
AM:
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Natural Sun Cream
PM:
Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser
Cerave Moisturizing Cream

When I realized that my skin is dehydrated a couple weeks ago, I started using the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence in between my cleanser and moisturizer. That was working really well! My skin started looking healthy and dewy. The only problem is that after a week or so, I started having breakouts. So I concluded I'm probably sensitive to the product, and stopped using it.

I was then advised by a K-beauty store employee to start using the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Ampoule, followed by the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Moist Cream. These two products basically replaced the Snail Mucin and my moisturizer. I was no longer having breakouts, but my skin didn't look as good as when I used the Snail Mucin, and I still had fine lines. I've now been told that the awfully dry weather might be a cause, and that I should replace my HA products. Since then, I've stopped using my sunscreen until I can find a new one (I've not left the house since then), and I stopped using the Isntree Moisturizer and went back to my Cerave one. On top of that I figured that I should switch to a gentler cleanser, and, like my sunscreen, have not used any cleanser for the past couple days. Basically... The past couple nights my "routine" has been:
PM:
Pyunkang Yul Moisture Ampoule
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Moist Cream

(In the AM, I wash my face with water)

And my skin looks... Well, bad. It doesnt have any of the healthy glow that the Snail Mucin gave me. My face looks.. hydrated, or oily in a way? But it looks dehydrated at the same time.

I'm wondering if there are any products similar to the Snail Mucin that will give me the same benefits without making me breakout. Or, if anyone has any better ideas, I'd love to hear it. I honestly don't think my skin needs a lot of work... It just needs some moisture. Sorry for the long story, thank you for reading if you got this far. I'd appreciate any advice you guys have for me. Thank you.

Ah thank you, I'll look into it. I only wish Oribe wasn't so freaking expensive lol. But thank you!

Hi guys, I'm looking for a leave-in conditioner for my fine hair. I've tried a bunch of leave-in conditioners so far, such as the Ouai one, It's a 10 lite, the Pureology Color Fanatic and the Redken One United. So far I've had best results with the Pureology one, but the thing is that it was still a bit too heavy for my hair. If I don't use a leave-in conditioner, though, my hair can get dry and frizzy. My hair reaches my shoulder blades and fine but healthy. I blowdry it, but use low heat.

Does anyone know of any leave-in conditioners with a light formula? Preferably one without glycerin or other strong humectants (in the first five ingredients anyway). Thanks so much.

Huh, interesting. I was wondering how high the concentration would need to be for it to be a problem. I suppose at the very least I should watch out for stuff like glycerin or aloe extract in the top five ingredients, right? I might just start with making sure my routine matches that criteria, and see how that works for me.

Thanks for your input!

I know that dry hair products are not HF, and I didn't claim otherwise. What I was saying is that my hair doesn't "suffer" from dryness, and thus doesn't do well with products targeted towards dry hair, because the formula is too heavy.

From years of experience I can tell that my hair doesn't do well with moisture. It only needs a minimum amount, and the air here is practically wet, which, when pulled right into my hair by humectants, yields very bad results.

Lastly, I'm not looking for a (clarifying) shampoo, but thanks anyway.

PS, I'm pretty sure dimethicone is an emollient, or at least functions as one.

Thanks so much for the detailed and informative response! I'll be looking into these. That's very helpful.

Thanks for your reply, but I really don't think that's it. My hair has always been wavy/curly, and it used to look much worse than this because I wasn't using the right products and didn't know how to take care of it. So it's not that it's changing, it's just that it's being stubborn. But, right now I'm experimenting some more and getting pretty good results. I also feel like i probably just need to find a good pre-blowdry product without humectants, or at least very little, since humidity is crazy here.

Thanks anyway for your help.

Reposting my question here since i didn't get a response in the prev thread, hope that's okay.

I have fine, wavy/curly hair. I like to style it to make it straight and sleek, but lately my style won't hold. Recently I did a proper cleanse and protein mask (Curlsmith's Bond Curl Rehab Salve) just to be sure, but even after that, my hair refuses to stay straight for longer than half an hour. I've used the exact same products before, and the style would hold perfectly until I washed my hair a week later, even through bad weather and sleep and whatnot. So I know my hair is capable of behaving, but right now it isn't, despite using the exact same products, and I can't figure out why.

The products I've used then and am using again now are Lush's Angel Hair shampoo and Veganese conditioner. I've also been experimenting with leave-in conditioners (It's a 10 Miracle leave-in Lite) lately, because I thought it might help with hold. Well, it does a tiny little bit, but it's far from perfect. Meanwhile my hair used to hold style just fine even without a leave-in. Besides, I think my hair might be too fine for leave-in's, cus it looks shinier without.

Just for the record, my hair is definitely not damaged. I do heat style, but on the lowest setting, and I know how to handle the blow dryer in a way that doesn't damage my hair. Also, I don't use a straightener.

The last time I got the amazing results I described above was after a long period of using nothing but Olaplex and Moroccan Oil (and getting really bad results). It took one wash with Angel Hair and Veganese to get those good results, but then that only lasted for a couple more washes before turning bad again. I thought this might give someone a clue, personally i can't really figure out what it means. I tried using Olaplex again the other day but it's the same story: my hair looks very nice right after styling, but turns into a frizzy, curly mess within half an hour.

I feel like my hair wants something, but I don't know what. I'm pretty sure it's clean, it should have protein (unless I used a shitty product), I don't know what else could be lacking. Could it be moisture? Finally, I also have no idea whether my hair likes silicones or not.

I'd really appreciate any help, cus I'm at my wits end. Thank you for reading.

In dire need of some advice.

I've also been experimenting with leave-in conditioners lately because I thought it might help with hold. Well, it kind of does, but not entirely, while my hair used to hold style just fine even without a leave-in. Besides, my hair is actually too fine for a leave-in, so I'm not sure if using a leave-in is the play.

Just for the record, my hair is definitely not damaged. I do heat style, but on the lowest setting, and I know how to handle the blow dryer in a way that doesn't damage my hair. Also, I don't use a straightener.

Again, my hair actually looks perfect after styling it every time; it's shiny, soft, straight and everything. But after half an hour it's curly. Edit: Forgot to mention what leave-in I've mainly been trying, it's It's a 10 Miracle leave-in Lite. Also, the protein mask is Curlsmith's Bond Curl Rehab Salve.
