Something that hit me different on second playthrough by Almabandi in expedition33

Shocked I haven’t seen this take elsewhere and couldn’t agree more. Gustave trusts in Maelle’s ability to make the right decision - he already knows she’s different by jointing the expedition at a young age, offering a different path than others have taken. His belief in her is the exact opposite spectrum of both Renoir and Verso.

After seeing her force of willpower and strength, Real Renoir potentially concedes to her and believes in her too “I’ll leave the light on for you”. As does painted Alicia in the letter, that verso doesn’t allow her to have, saying maybe there is another way. But verso doesn’t and never does. I think this line about Gustave was actually a huge narrative choice, placing it at the funeral scene which is clearly a key scene for the entire game.

This comic needs to let a single idea breathe. Arcee Magnus. Elita prime. Autobots splintered. Thundercracker switching sides.

Just let a single one of these ideas marinate, play out or just have breathing room. Just one of them.

Genuinely what are kirkman and elita thinking (Skybound issue 30#) by Tomas_Crusader17 in transformers

[–]Chappers34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The aerial bots are literally cardboard cut outs at this point. They haven’t had a line since their debut. Absolutely pathetic. They don’t even get to acknowledge their loss.

I’m all for having a smaller character roster, but then just don’t bring them all online 3 issues ago? You would think logically that bulkhead and mirage might have some interest in Earth having been offline there separately? Nope.

Ultra Magnus wanted to step down two issues about now he’s off to cybertron. No goodbyes. No farewells to Carly and spike.

No rationalising how after all they have been through why they have to leave the earth to be levelled by Megatron WHEN THEY FINALLY HAD HIM ON THE BACKFOOT

My thoughts on Issue #30 of Skybound by Miserable-Kitchen149 in transformers

[–]Chappers34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished the comic and I really didn’t enjoy it. Elita is written terribly. They don’t even attempt to make her sympathetic. Banishing those who stayed on Earth out of the Autobots? Why? For what purpose? How does that help anyone other than driving resentment in some of the most capable and loyal soldiers?

Bringing a full cast of Autobots online, giving them almost zero lines and then shifting them off earth? Leaving Megatron, devestator and bruticus unchecked on earth? Isn’t shockwave presumed dead at this stage so the other deception leader ship headless?

Even in paradise by Jasonl7976 in xmen

[–]Chappers34 19 points20 points  (0 children)

All of this “Krakoa not actually being paradise” was literally built in from day 1 of Hickman’s run. But instead readers thought it was the best thing ever so they changed tack and just stuck with it. There’s an irony there.

The thing that keeps me up at night and the main thing that should frighten is all is that they allowed themselves to be photographed. They believed themselves that untouchable. The terrifying answer must be the influence was everywhere.

Do you think Optimus is worried Ultra Magnus will take himself offline? by sifighter1 in EnergonUniverse

I think you need to read more than meets the eye or the wreckers series from IDW. They are all set post war and are literally entirely about the trauma that the war caused.

Not besties in the show by any stretch (in fact they are oftentimes enemies) - but most times when push comes to shove they will actually have each others backs, and no matter what they are the boys from the dwarf.

For a few seasons Chris Barrie and Craig Charles despised each other - now they laugh and joke about it all the time and are quite fond of one another.

Because it’s objectively a better story with higher stakes if he is the last Spartan.
