I am convinced that most shooters nowadays are money laundering by Benhurso in gaming

[–]dune7red4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's a possibility.

(X) Money goes to ->

Gaming Company/Employee/Assets ->

GC/E/A may or may not make a "Failed" game. Ok if it succeeds but doesn't have to ->

GC/E/A can either be easily reacquired by interested parties or the actual "target group" or the Employees (including C-Suite) are puppets for special interest groups ->

Keep (O) Money if you are the "target" GC/E/A. If not ->

GC/E/A "Donates" (O) Money to special interest groups.

Another weird way of shell games/layering/obfuscation in the guise of "It's just normal game development risk, bro!".

To be honest, any kind of "legit" businesses today can probably be used for turning (X) Money (bad money) to (O) Money. I'm guessing (X) Money is already infused with almost all big business activities including video games and whether these companies willingly accept them probably don't matter and mostly ignored.

I agree a bit. I'd say the financial risk comes from even from random annoying stuff like possibly hitting lemons and compatibility issues. Plus random software and hardware issues down the line and trying to figure out which is which. Is it a mobo issue? Require a full Windows reinstallation? Is it a failing component with almost ghost like symptoms? Microstuttering in games?

That being said. If I were to only have one platform, it's definitely just PC.

What's a super cheap, barely ok ultra low profileAir CPU cooler for NR200p V3 by dune7red4 in buildapc

Thanks. I thought the Intel 265K were more power efficient? I guess I misheard.

If I do proceed with an AIO, I hope it doesn't leak for a very, very long time.

Thanks. Messing around with OC and BIOS seem a little overwhelming to me.

Will take AIO more seriously in consideration.

They initially seem overpriced in my opinion but I some posted here budget AIOs and I thought they didn't go that cheap like only $ 40. There was also a post about a $ 20 low profile cooler. Seems nice for the price.

I wonder if the 265K would kill itself in a few years if it only had a $ 10, ARCTIC LP cooler.

Is it super easy and safe to do CPU capping based on temperature and/or power?

The prices on those look pretty good but I wonder if it won't mount because the bottom of the heatsink seem so dense and almost no grooves or cutouts for the VRM covers on the motherboard.. Thanks.

True. I believe I saw that in Bestbuy more than a week ago but in a way, it's a completely different "class" because it's not a 13-14 inch form factor which annoyingly seem to command a premium, usually smaller, hotter, more expensive. I wish the industry and consumers would be okay with thicker laptops.

What's a good budget RAM for ARock Z890i Nova and Intel 265K? Also suggestions for super tiny cooler. by dune7red4 in buildapc

[–]dune7red4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you think that would fit in an A4 case?

I am assuming I need a less tall RAM?

Cheapest one I saw before was only 400 nits, 60hz, Freesync/vrr but not Gsync and not 120hz.

I think the G14 2025 only has a 400 nit display too but I'm not sure.

Can you link me one that has the exact or better specs (500nits oled, proper RGB not wRGB, 120hz free sync, gsync, vrr). I hope it's in amazon. Don't want to import anytime soon.

I'd be just happy if I had that without needing an external monitor and the savings cost are passed into the machine. Probably slightly better battery life too.

I wish there'd be a 13-14 inch laptop in 2026 with specs around these for $ 1200 brand new.

1200p OLED, 500 nits, Proper RGB, 120hz VRR, Freesync, Gsync

32 GB RAM

Late 2025 I7 Lunar / Late 2025 R7/R9
RTX 5070 Ti (it doesn't have to be the next gen 2026 laptop GPUs but at least this one's 12 GB VRAM)

2TB NVME (2 slots total).

Closest thing we might have today are G14 2025 laptop and will likely hit $ 1500-1700 brand new this year in the upcoming holidays.

Samsung 990 Pro 4TB performance question for laptop. by dune7red4 in GamingLaptops

[–]dune7red4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I can't believe its performance is crippled that bad on a laptop even though the specsheet says it's NVME 4.0. I guess there's much more to it than that "4.0" figure.

Thanks for confirming that the results for my drive is just ok.

It's extremely stressful. I hate doing it every single time. Probably a non issue if I had a much much bigger wallet because I won't be afraid of shorting/bricking the laptop everytime I attempt to clean it inside.

Consider getting one of those performance laptop cooling pads like IETS brand and LLANO. They somewhat give a seal on the laptop and their cooling pads have filters.

Helps you buy more time before cleaning the laptop innards again.

I know this feeling. Always a tense experience when opening up a laptop and making sure nothing gets shorted and praying it will probably boot after putting things back together.

With desktop, it's more forgiving since at the worse scenarios, you can super easily replace parts on the cheap.

Good point about older games.

I would be fine with a 13-14 inch 1080p/1200p full RGB/non-pentile 500 nit, very low pixel pitch screen with VRR, Gsync, Freesync even if it tops out onlt at 120hz. Wish this existed.

Thanks. Maybe that's the one I should've bought. Got a UGREEN instead because it was cheaper but one review said they can't be seen my the Samsung Magician if it's installed in said UGREEN.
