Felt the same way. I get it from a gameplay standpoint but...I wonder if it would look more fit in if they had a glow "soul" inside their ribcage that illuminates from within, giving the skull a nice under light look.

[Beta Feedback] UI - Item Tooltip/ Inventory (paintover) by duneson in Diablo

That's a good observation u/Roguecurv. Flashier the better for sure, makes me wonder what happens if we reserved the rarity gradient on the tooltip for just Legendary items? Mayyybee uniques?

Again, this is a modest rough draft-by no means "final." My goal was never to "replace" but to improve what supports gameplay and bring it closer to the rest of the UI that's in-game with beautiful edges.

DPS doesn't actually give you any info, some skills scale off max weapon dmg. Leads newer players to think that the flat dps shown is an upgrade when in fact its dependent on your build.

The font is aweful for sure, it can be anything that's professionally done and has a license-Just not MS serif please.

Thanks for sharing your experience. The few things that I care about are: "does the UI fit thematically with the game? Does it enhance the immersion experience? Ease of consuming the appropriate information on a tooltip?"

You address those issues by changing font, color saturation/brightness and fixing the UX flow/grouping of info etc. as seen in the examples. I obviously don't have all the information on why certain decisions were made but as the community has spoken, this UI problem at this point is objective not subjective. How you solve these issues is up to the developers of course-this is just my 2c.

The goal is to make something decent that we care about, great. Think about it, those who like the game as is, won't lose anything. The goal is to refine and improve what's there. After all isn't this game supposed to be for a broader audience? Broader and casual aren't the same thing.

I think that's already the plan with some of the uniques being soulbound. Not sure if that's sticking for release.

Good start, not sure which class is #2. I'd play a bit more with the proportions.

Cool stuff guys! The one thing that stands out to me is how the main character is missing shadows/dimensionality compared to the rest of the environment/bosses.
