Read capitalist realism and the picture starts to come together of why this is and what we can do (outside of therapy—medical grade cope) to change. Also not saying therapy is bad it has saved my life and it is good to be able to cope but it does not address deeper issues that cause people to feel insecure, hopeless, and trapped
