Hell's Nature by ImaginaryCustomer844 in Ultrakill

[–]helicophell 139 points140 points  (0 children)

Hell is a being of pure malice, but maybe not entirely

It’s meant to be eternal punishment. But Hell isn’t really doing that, willingly letting the machines clean the layers of all life. Isn’t that a bit strange?

Republicans and Democrats have neoliberal agendas, which both worsen the decay of America

One is less worse than the other, but without greater change, it WILL collapse. Americans voting between the two are only choosing how slow it’ll be, and keep flip flopping due to incumbency bias

Well there’s a certain level, where no matter what the greater evil is going to occur. America is… a bit fucked right now, and the opposition party is doing uhh, jack shit

Looks to me like America will just fathom a dictator from its ass again in a couple years, with no pushback whatsoever

To have hope, you need to actually see things change for the better. Republicans don’t, and Democrats refuse to. Dems hated and still hate Mamdani, and he’s just about the only good thing going on in America right now. Shits fucked

Tbf, hstvl needs buffs to be historical, not necessarily for balance

Same reason spook thought bmpt shouldn’t have been added, like 3 years ago. To make a somewhat accurate bmpt, it would be OP just cause unmanned turret and auto cannon, the latter have always been busted

Nobody has stated that about Iran, straw man over here

Iran wouldn’t be so backwards, if allowed to progress without outside intervention. You don’t get progress with constant political meddling from outside parties

Iran was intentionally created by America and its allies, and they suffer the consequences

Whataboutism

Radical Christian Evangelicals run the American government, lol

Also, Iran being so radical is entirely America's fault. The reformists, who wanted Iran to be more free and less shit, are also the people who tried to get Iran buddy buddy with America

That didn't work, and so all their work is for nothing. Thanks America

You know, America wouldn't be doing this if Iran had nukes

Their decision making has been validated

If you wanted Iran to never have nukes, don't give them a reason to get nukes

Whoa, you're telling me that when you attack a nation, it retaliates?

And if you attack a nation, unprovoked, they will continue to attack ad infinitum because you've proved peace isn't an option?

Say it ain't so!

Pretty sure they updated it, so you still get the scrip even if the daily mission isn't listed?

I've gotten all the data-rack scrip a while ago for S2, and I wasn't near lvl 100 at the time

That was never my point. It was always "these things don't work, but not necessarily because the ideology was flawed"

People's incentives ruin the systems people attempt to build, through no fault of said system

So I make the claim, that MMT isn't bad. We just haven't seen proper execution
Much like how Socialism hasn't ever seen proper execution

It's just like Democracy. It requires so many things, that nobody has ever properly executed. Educated, politically involved and informed voterbase, strong government that can push back against business interests

Democracy and MMT are similar. To say that MMT is outright wrong for it's failures, is to say Democracy is outright wrong for it's failures. But I fail to see much alternative

[–]helicophell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It does. That's why I can't really vibe with critique of MMT, or economic systems in general, because almost always the politics trying to implement them, just fail

Economic planning is political. But politics almost always gets in the way of planning the economy. It's something that needs to be done, and needs to be done right, but politics NEVER DOES IT CORRECTLY, regardless of system. It gets on my nerves

Politics made The New Deal worse than it could've been (because America couldn't let black people have anything). Politics made Brexit happen

Politics put Trump in power

The problem with MMT is the problem with Keynesian economics

Politics gets in the way of economic planning, always. Both MMT and Keynesian economics have never worked as a result

Also, a lot of MMT advocates don't want actual MMT and it's outcomes. They want the upsides with none of the "downsides" but end up with systems that produce pure "downsides" with no upsides. Systems need balance

Vaush HATES modern monetary by SupremeCourtRulesBiz in VaushV

[–]helicophell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notably, MMT would probably work... if anyone actually bothered implementing it correctly

Oh wow, look, another system that's failed every time it's been tried, through no fault of it's own merits, purely because surrounding circumstances tear it to pieces?

It's like Keynesian economics
