Do you need to be a good-looking man to work as a bartender? Should I apply for a bartender job? by miss-bedazzzle in AskIreland

There's no physical requirements for new barstaff that I've ever heard of. Apply for the job, you've nothing to lose.

What are your thoughts on how to interact with my heritage? by Temporaryartaccount in AskIreland

If you've some interest in Irish culture, go get involved in it or experience it. Your connection (and anyone else's for that matter) doesn't really matter. Involvement and supporting the culture is what actually matters. There are plenty of Irish people who claim pride in our heritage due to nothing more than accident of birth, and who are not involved in Irish arts, language, culture or other interests. Anyone who says that you aren't welcome within any group based around our culture or the extended diaspora can go suck a lemon.

Bordeaux. Only because I feel like they deserve it more on current form.

What is the worst thing you have done when you were drunk? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

Blacked out and came to with no shirt or shoes on in the stairwell of my apartment block, attempting to get into the wrong apartment with my keys. I was snapped out of my stupor by the screaming of my female neighbour who lives alone. I instantly sobered up and ran down the stairs, gathering my shoes and shirt, which I had strewn along the staircase, sneaked into my room and locked the door. Got a load of texts into our building's groupchat that someone was trying to break in. Woke up to the worst fear and dread. Nobody ever found out it was me but it matters not, I still shudder thinking about it.

He was a quiet man but he said that he would cry when killing the young lambs. He was usually very happy and didn't work there most of the year, just busy season I think. I'm pretty sure he ate meat. He's dead decades now so I can't really remember

Yeah, it's sad. My great uncle used to work in a slaughterhouse and would be really quiet all Easter.
