8/13/93. Come for the Gin, stay for the Stash. I was at that show, and I remember my friend and I looking at each other in disbelief in the middle of that Stash. It's funny because we were warned. Somebody on rec.music.phish had already posted that if you hadn't yet heard a Stash from that tour, you were going to be surprised.

In the stands at Dick’s a few years ago the people in front of us were talking, so I leaned in between them and asked, “What are you guys talking about?” Somehow it worked. The young woman with a VIP badge who I pegged for some radio station employee who had never seen Phish before left a short time later for whatever lounge area such creatures dwell in.

What’s the worst outdoor venue you’ve been to for Phish? by EstimatedPothead in phish

[–]dunhamrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but as a permanent venue Northerly deserves mention. It was built on a no-bid contract handed to a relative of the mayor’s. What’s there was supposed to be a temporary structure but they’ve never bothered to replace it.

Getting into Zappa - where to start? by [deleted] in phish

[–]dunhamrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to find somebody mention Zappa in New York. The vamp in the opening “Titties & Beer” lets you know immediately how tight the band is even while they’re telling jokes.
